POI software from Garmin

The poi uploader from Garmin is evidently different for PC (windows) and Mac. I downloaded the beta version for Mac OSX. ( the only one I could find) Is it possible to enter something manually? Everything seems to be automatic and I find no access to proximity settings or alerts. Did I miss something somewhere? BTW everything seems to work well, but I would like to set proximity distances and speeds, if possible. The unit is a 350.
did you try using numbers in your poi file name
Using numbers in the file name can set your speed or distance limits per things I have read on this site.

I used the redlight for the name which I assumed sets a predetermined distance. Can this be changed.? I have not had any success with speed settings, with or without numbers.

The beta version available at http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/32218 will allow you to choose either "Express" or "Manual" mode.
Nuvi 660 -- and not upgrading it or maps until Garmin fixes long-standing bugs/problems, and get maps to where they are much more current, AND corrected on a more timely basis when advised of mistakes.

I downloaded the beta version again, even though the version numbers were the same, and this time I did get a choice of manual or express. Thank you again. This site is better than all the instruction manuals. I hope I eventually learn enough to help someone else with their problems.
