Nuvi 300/350 version 6.0

New update for the 300/350 has been posted.

http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=1675

Changes made from version 5.60 to 6.00:
* Improved non-volatile memory reliability.
* Enhanced compatibility with PC Applications.
* Compatibility with future maps.

"Enhanced compatibility with

"Enhanced compatibility with PC Applications."

I wonder what that means.

300/350 Update

Have you downloaded it yet? Do you know of any negative issues with it?

Fallback?

More to the point, is it removeable? (Given that 7xx updates no longer are).

Might be worth checking with Garmin before testing it for them...especially, if out of warranty.

Also, did they finally fix the linebreak display problem? If, after updating to v6.0, you can no longer re-install v5.6 and the linebreak issue wasn't addressed, don't think I'll update.

Please forgive me, I haven't been here for awhile and I cant remember what the "line break" issue was. Can someone refresh an old man's memory?

The nuvi 350 & 360 don't recognize standard linebreaks, they require
in field 4. Check

for more info.

Has anyone downloaded the new update to the Nuvi 350 yet and given it a test run??
Probably all of us are afraid to be the first one!

Just got it update. As soon

Just got it update. As soon as it restarted, it went to a blue screen for around 20-30 seconds. I was like oh shoot, I have to send it over to Garmin again. After 20-30 seconds the regular start up screen showed up.

I don't know how to check for the line breaks on the NUVI 350.

To check linebreaks ...

Thanks for the info.

Copy and paste the following into Notepad, create a csv POI file, and load it into the GPS:

-111.9506,41.1528,Standard LB,"Field 4
Standard"
-112.9444,42.195,nuvi LB,"Field 4nuvi"

If the first line is displayed:
Field 4
Standard

and not:
Field 4Standard
the problem is fixed.

If the second line displayes:
Field 4
nuvi

then the problem is not fixed.

Oh, I knew that, but thought that was just the way that they did it. Didn't realize that it was a "bug".

Sorry, the second line should have been:
-112.9444,42.195,nuvi LB,"Field 4
nuvi"
This should display the linebreak.

Your display of the first line showed it isn't fixed. Thank you for trying that.
