I just got my first GPS: a Garmin 205W.

It's pretty basic, but for $129, I thought it was a good deal, especially with the wider 4.3" screen. So far If just been making trips around town, but it's an impressive little device. I can't wait till I take a road trip or even a place in town that I haven't been to yet just to test it out.

I'm new to the site. I just bought a Nuvi 255 and I was just wondering if anyone knows when the next map update will be released. I think I get the 60-day NuMaps guarantee and didn't want to waste it on an old version

Tonight I used "My Desktop" for the first time....
It indicated that a firmware upgrade was available....
So I connected and let it go....
An hour and a half later, it got to 82% and disconnected.... Fortunately Nuvi still works...

Now my questions:

I have a Garmin Nuvi 350. I updated my Extra POI Editor to the 380 version which appears to be for the Nuvi 760.

Can someone point me back to a version that will work with the 350.

i tried to load a map to my garmin 1340 and failed can somebody tell me how to get rid of the cannot unlock map from start screen

I have had 3 NUVI 1690's over the past 3 weeks. There is definitely a problem with RF affecting the display when the NU LINK communication is active which is about every 3 minutes or when you select any type of search. When the wireless communication starts the screen gets horizontal wavy lines going upward on the display.

What should i do first? have not turned it on yet
1. update firmware?
2. accure sat ?
3. download map update?

Although I personally don't use vehicles (default blue arrow for me, please), I know many others out there do. The newest is Giddyup!

I have been playing with adding text color to GPX files to highlight certain text. But in every case the color is on a white background which I would like to change for some text. I tried "background-color=" and "background=" which is used by several XML standards, but that does seem to work. Does anyone know the GML keyword for changing the background? Can it even be changed?

How do I load icons to my Garmin Nuvi200W? I downloaded the custom POI's to the device as well as the icons, but the icons will not show up on the map!?!?

I'm going to give my Nuvi 660 to my wife and purchase a new unit for myself. I'll be sticking with a Garmin and was considering the 765T. I'll be buying it online and my actual purchase price won't be anywhere near the MSRP they have listed for this.

I have a Nuvi 200 issue that has only occurred a few times, and only when on my on motorcycle, never in the car. I know the Nuvi 200 isn't the gps of choice for a bike, but I keep it dry, and it was cheap

I downloaded some POI files and also created one of my own for my trip to Europe. They were there, and with the Europe SD card in my nuvi 260w I was easily able togo to Custom POIs and see them. They would show up on the map when in that view. All was right with the world...

Can anyone tell me what I need to do after downloading the rest area files to my laptop, is it difficult to install these files on my Garmin 670? Thanks

Hi all, My Nuvi 650s touch screen stopped working. Any advice would be appricaited. I did reset the unit with no impact.

I have a Nuvi 765t. We used it on a 1200 mile trip from NC to MN and back recently. During the trip up and back, it locked up 4 times. As in, the screen froze. No reaction to screen touch inputs or anything. Turning the gps on and off got it working again. Anyone else experiencing this with this unit, or similar units by Garmin? Everything else works ok.
