I plotted a route in Mapsource and sent it sucessfully to my Nuvi but can't find it. How to I access it?

I have three .gpx POI files, along with seven .csv POI files. I have no problem adding all the .csv files, but when I add a second .gpx file it replaces the one currently in the GPS. All three have different filenames, of course. I've tried it many times and the last one loaded is the only one there, always replacing the previous one.

I have made a little program to extract all the 858 symbols from the nuvi 765 (probably applies as well to the entire 7x5 family). They are so niiiiice! It includes the following symbols: all POIs, weather, traffic, navigation, menu, etc...

I cannot post them for copyright reasons, but I can make the program available if there is some interest.

I recently installed the garmin web updater & downloaded the most recent updates. Since then the unit takes a LOT longer when you turn it on and I have no sound at all. I tried the toll free number but the wait time was so long and an e-mail says I'll get a reply within three days, so I thought maybe someone else has had this problem. By the way I have already tried a factory reset & no luck.

The nuvi 855 and maybe all 8x5 series has new firmware, version 4.70 dated December 28, 2009.

Changes made from version 4.60 to 4.70:
•General stability fixes.
•Resolved issue where scrolling through map in dense area may cause street labels to not be displayed.
•Resolved issue with unit converter precision and rounding.

I've noticed my Garmins can give some rather spurious results for proper directions for leaving/entering a parking lot and navigating to a location. Last night was interesting, we were headed to a restaurant adjacent to a shopping center. It was on the left across a divided highway.

The other night, I turned it on after work and set my route home. A traffic warning popped up and told me I had a 17 min delay.

Will Garmin or other GPS makers add advertising to their POI listings? Give preference to motel chains, or other companies. who pay a fee to Garmin in advance for a higher listing? I hope not, but time will tell.

FINDING THE COORDINATES OF A FAVORITE -

In order to hear Street names being said, I hear that I must select Text To Speech Voices....

I also hear that most 3rd party voices are not Text To Speech voices... Fortunately, I found this out before purchasing.....

Does 3rd party Text To Speech voices exist, and do they just install via Drag & Drop, or, does it have to over-write an existing Garmin voice?

The TTS functionality (no voice functionality is kaput. Where would be a good place to start troubleshooting? Constructive suggestions are appreciated.

I have had a 765T for a while. Recently, I bought the 265WT for my wife. I used the POI uploader to load redlight and speed camera POI's into the 265WT. I followed the exact same procedure as the 765T. The files appeared to have loaded without problems. There were no error messages.

Bin talkin with Garmin about my 755t touch screen issue. Read all all the posts in here about it, so this is nothing new. They made me an offer to get it replaced. I replied that it seemed a waste of time at this point since their new Firmware made mine worse, i know all to well what happens with the software thats on your new Garmin when you register. Here's my Question.

I bought the 285WT and it has 3 months of trial MSN. However, does anyone know how to get/activate FM traffic on the unit?

Is there a way to search for POIs that match a certain criterion? For instance I've loaded the Rest Areas file into my Garmin 765T and would like to be able to find the nearest Rest Areas which have an RV dump. Or find any along a planned route, so we know where we can dump while on the road.

what's the different between usinf redlight and tourguid when building a poi??

My new 255W seems to have a lot of stuff utilizing memory that I will never use. I've already pulled the alternate languages off of it but I was wondering if there may be a list of other items I could remove without affecting my day-to-day operation.

I use my Nuvi 855 when I go "Jeeping" on the trails and dry washes here in AZ and I would like to save a COMPLETE log of a ride for future use. How can I do this?

I just downloaded the POI file Homedepot along with the Homedepot symbol (which I had to copy and paste the symbol) into the Homedepot POI folder. I loaded the Homedepot POI file with the POI LOADER onto my Garmin 1450.

I turned on my Garvin. There is addresses of Homedepot stores that were not there but there is not a icon/symbol on my Garmin Unit?
