If you are asking about using Redlight and TourGuide in the file name they both give you a 1/4 mile alert using poiloader in express mode.Redlight is along the road alert and TourGuide is a radius alert. The distance can be increased by using poiloader in manual mode or building the distance in.

Think of it this way. A tourguide is a circle drawn around the point while redlight is a rectangle paralleling the road the point is on.

If what you are trying to accomplish is having an alert sound automatically when you are in the vicinity of a point, look at building a GPX file using EPE. It's really easy and you aren't limited to a quarter mile.

Yes they will both give you

Yes they will both give you alert either when you select go to or passing by the location without selecting go to.You will get the default bong alert. You can add mp3 for a voice alert.See http://www.poi-factory.com/node/25721 for custom pois.If you want alerts for example driving done the interstate for a certain custom poi TourGuide is more suited for that. You will need to set for more then the 1/4 radius.I set them for 1 1/2 or 2 miles.

Edit.See http://www.poi-factory.com/node/13958 for more info on TourGuide.
