What is the easiest way to modify the route on a Nuvi 260? For example, it sometimes routes its trips along busy highways when I would prefer to take the turnpike. By the way, I'm pretty sure that the Toll Roads selection in the Avoidances menu was unchecked.

I'm new to this...I have downloaded Garmin's POI downloader, which appears to run OK, except when it starts to try to find files that I know exist on my computer...it simply doesn't recognise downloads I have done from this site. Any tips?

Sooner or later your GPS whether it is a Garmin or other brand will be discontinued and you may get the itch for the new features in the new models.

In updating my maps and software, I was greeted with a notice that my Garmin 650 was now a discontinued product. So out of curiosity, I sent Garmin an email asking two questions.

1. Can I buy a new unit at a discount?

I think Garmin has so many issues with the new and old units that they are overwhelmed and may never fix many of them. They keep giving the same answers over and over that the problem is a known issue and they will send out a fix but no idea when. It is difficult to blame the customer service people because they have a list of things to try to solve problems.

Update, we talked to another truck driver who swears by his 765t...however he also has a 465t and he does not like it for the fact that it pulls u-turns at every stop, via point, and destination. Unless manually going into the unit while driving (very unsafe)--it will recalculate every stop back to the stop eventhough you are sitting in the actual parking lot!

I just upgraded to the 755t and every once in awhile the GPS tells me to take an exit off the freeway only to tell me to get back on the same freeway a short time later my 350 never did that does anybody know whats going on with my GPS 755t

With the latest map set I get weird recalculations. I'll be driving along on a section where I'm supposed to drive 56 miles (just an example) on such and such highway. Right in the middle of the section the unit will say "recalculating" and do it one or two times in a row and then settle down back to the same route. I've never had this happen with other map sets.

Where do I install this file at I can do the Icons and add the .wav but it don't play the .wav Please help :>)

Alright, so my garmin nuvi 765t has the latest map update available, and I've been noticing that when I put my gps in simulation mode, the lane assist will pop up in places that I haven't seen it before.

Hi everybody!!! my Name is Bilson from Brockton, MA. i'm new to the site and i need some help loading sounds and icond to the POI that i have already downloaded on into my Garmin nuvi 680. i can see the POI files in my GPS but im trying to add sound and icons to it and i can't do it.

I have a garmin nuvi 200W which I purchased late summer of 2008. I registered my garmin not long after, not knowing about the free update.Is there any way to get a free update even though may 60 days have come and gone or is the only way the buy an update?

I'm in Norman OK. To my knowledge there is no red light cameras or speed cameras in Norman.

On some main streets I get a pop up Alert saying 7 mph speed alert. If I am going slow the back ground is black as I speed up to the posted speed the back ground turns red and I get a beeping sound.

For some reason every now and then the voice on my 885 goes back to Jill instead of staying with Jack. Is there a way to make Jack the default?

We're leaving central IL tomorrow for Pike's Peak, Rocky Mt. National Park, the Custer Battlefield, Mt. Rushmore, etc. and we're relying on our 255W to get us there and back. I've had it for over a year and it's never failed so far.

So I have two questions:

1- Do you know where can I get a Discount Code to use on the Checkout page of the Garmin website?

Two days in a row at the exact same location my Garmin 855 does a reboot. It is at the intersection of I5 and I 705 going southbound in downtown Tacoma, WA. This is the location that you really need turns and lane information. The reboot takes about 20 seconds.
What would cause the receiver to reboot at this exact location?
Other than this the 855 has been excellent.
