7 mph Alert

I'm in Norman OK. To my knowledge there is no red light cameras or speed cameras in Norman.
On some main streets I get a pop up Alert saying 7 mph speed alert. If I am going slow the back ground is black as I speed up to the posted speed the back ground turns red and I get a beeping sound.
I have not seen any thing that even resembles a camera in the intersections or along the streets I am driving on.
Any ideas.

Unless I miss it I don't see
Unless I miss it I don't see redlight or speed camera in OK .I would look at your other files.Somewhere you have a 7 in one of them.

Speed information can be
Speed information can be included in the file name or in the names of individual POIs within the file.

Perhaps a 7-11 POI File
Perhaps a 7-11 POI file... or some other file with a numeric name... is being turned into a speed alert...

7-11 does do it

That might be correct, although I didn't realize it at the time. I changed the 7-11 file to a TourGuide file to try out that feature and when I used POILoader it defaulted to a speed alert at 7 mph, which I changed to use the distance option. I didn't understand why it would be set to give a speed warning for a 7-11 store, but now I see.
Yes, I had a "7 to eleven"
Yes, I had a "7 to eleven" POI I had just added since I have been here. I just changed the name to "Seven" instead of the number 7. I'll let the forum know if it worked.
Thanks all,

I had to do that with a Super 8 hotel file.If you run poiloader in the manual mode and just go down the list using ignore file. You will spot file with the alert in it for 7 mph.

Good for you
Many have been caught by a number in the file name. That is the reason why we like to know the full name of the file causing the problem.
Thanks for letting us know about a good resolution.
Number in file name
May be a good idea to have the authors of custom pois with numbers in them to make a name change.A note when you first upload or update file to the site explaining problem with number in file name.Of cource this would be a call by Miss Poi.

A similar thing happened to me ...
Every once in a while my nuvi would notify me about going over 8 MPH. It wasn't until I noticed that the alert occurred near Super 8 motels did I suss things out. I renamed the POI in question and the problem was solved.
Garmin Drive 61, nuvi 2597MT, too many really.
Thanks for the info
I was wondering why I kept getting a 3 mph speed warning and annoying dings; I had a file that has as part of the name 3-2010 and I bet it was picking up the 3 as a speed warning. I changed the name to March2010 and expect that will take care of the issue.
