My Nuvi 660 is over 4 years old and has served me very well, but it is getting sick. It's time to replace the battery, and it stalls at times. Can anyone suggest an equal replacement GPS? There are so many units out there with many different options, it's hard to know what's good.

Hello all. I'm a newbee to this forum, but it looks interesting. I'd like to use my Nuvi 660 as a GPS sensor for a vehicle data acquisition sensor. Can anyone suggest how I might extract Lat/Lon or other info via the USB connection? Thanks.

Installed above file in "My POI" folder on Win7 desktop.

Deleted at later date but my Garmin Nuvi 680 still beeps out a rest area location in the Santa Ana area of Los Angeles.

I inspected the folder, no file.
I did a search thru windows explorer, no file.

Comments are appreciated.

I've loaded the poi's to my Nuvi 1490 and they do not show when I look for them.

Tried latest update (I have lifetime updates)and it wouldn't let me install on my c530...not enough room. Every smaller option or zone came up with the same message. I am using windows 7 64 bit.
In the past I loaded one of the smaller zones onto my c530, and then the rest of the map onto my SD card.

I will call Garmin on Monday. This is not acceptable.

I have a Nuvi 755T, which is a discontinued model according to Garmin. With 2012.1 if there was a junction view in my planned route I was getting them all. Now with 2012.2 I get NOTHING! I sent Garmin an email DEMANDING my junction view be returned. I threatened them with buying from a different manufacturer.

For the last few weeks my 3970T stopped showing any traffic icons or any traffic detail. As my wife's commute is from Nassau County, NY to a destination near LaGuardia Airport she has to travel the Van Wyck Expressway which is ALWAYS jammed up. The GPSr used to show traffic conditions (and rerouting suggestions) every time she made the commute but is absolutely gone now.

Is Lane Assist in the same file as Junction View? I like LA but could forget about JV and 3d buildings. With the size of JV changing is it affecting LA?

My 855 have two files that are huge:

GMAPBMAP.IMG 50,500KB WINZIP FILE

FMAPPROM.IMG 1,310,496KB WINZIP FILE

Do I need these 2 files. If not, how do I delete them.

Has anyone had success with this new Garmin utility?

I noted an update for CNNA 2012.2 and downloaded the file. No mention is made as to where it went, but I did find it in the C:\Program Data\Garmin folder. From there I executed the msi file and it did install, but 2012.2 was locked.

In my C:\Garmin folder I have sox.zip and the latest POILoaderforWinddows_261.exe

When I load my custom pois, I get this error message.
..Unable to convert c:\documents and Settings\compaq_administrator\desktop\GPSstuff/aaMcDonaldsTourGuide.wav to the proper format, therefore this audio file was not transferred.

When will garmin have a new map update available?

I think these four models have 8GB of internal memory.
Some are available refurbished.

Which model would be best to buy?

Now 'My Garmin' gives you the option of using their new Automatic Lifetime Updater application or the regular update application to download it in one go. I presume the the automatic background updater is an easier load on their servers so that's why they're offering it.

I called Garmin a few minutes ago, and spoke with a fellow named Ben.

I went through our different file size dilemma with him, and after consulting his Help Desk, he returned and said they told him it was because of the "different SW's" on the various models.

Having nothing but trouble at this stage trying to get the new update on my 1450LMT.

As everyone knows from 2012.1 attempts ... there is not room to install the entire NA map update due to the ever expanding JCV files.

So many of us had to chose "US and Canada" instead of the entire 2012.1 update.

The connection between the power/traffic cord and the cradle on my nuvi 765t started acting up on my last road trip to the point where (more than once) the unit lost power without my realizing it until I received the "Low Battery" warning.

Thanks dave817 for updating the POI. Your timing is perfect. We're headed cross country to do a Fall Color ride on the east coast. Always good to have an updated POI with the dealer locations on a trip like this.

Hello, I am new to the site. I am travelling to the New England States and wanted to try the DinersDrive-insDives gpx program. How do i load it on a nuvi 255W or a nuvi 1390?
