Garmin talk

Looks like the problem with Google maps has cropped up again. EPE has started giving me an error message ('An error has occurred in the script on this page') showing the problem being URL: http://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/js?v=3&key=AlzaSyCkQmv5k...
And the map doesn't show in the upper right corner.

Anyone know what's going on, and how to fix it?

Years ago using the BaseCamp view option it brought up Google Earth and you could 'see' your waypoints!
Does anybody remember what version of BaseCamp and GE allowed you to do that?

For the past few versions, GE will see an SD card with HTML Garmin file from a 660, but during a map update will not warn you that you have to select a quadrant of the country..... THIS USED TO WORK..

I have a Drive Smart 60, latest map & Software. Normally when I select a POI category on the unit, 1t shows the closest 50, and I can scroll up and down to select one. About 2 weeks ago, it started just showing the closest one, not allowing me to scroll up & down. Did I inadvertently change a setting or what?

I was at home because I was finally struck by the Covid bug. After the symptoms left (24-36 hours of being wiped out, thank you vaccines) and awaiting a negative test, I was going thru some boxes and came across my old Nuvi 680. It's been some time since it was boxed and set out for goodwill.

Garmin Express v7.13.0.0 ready to down load.

Sometimes i just can't figure out where Garmin comes from with these updates. Express tells me i have two updates on my units, but it doesn't know i have north american maps on them? Well it should since it never gives me a euro map update. That option of course isn't available for me. But yet... i have an update for a new german digital provider.

Has any Garmin DriveSmart 51LMT-S 5-inch user here succeeded in updating maps by Wi-Fi?

On Wi-Fi my unit will update software but wrongly shows 2019 maps as "up to date" every time.

We are in the middle of a 5200 mile round trip and when I turned on my Drivesmart 61 the other day a message popped up saying something to the affect that the SD card in the Garmin device is no longer useable and should be replaced.

I'm embarrassed by having to ask this (and too lazy to try and figure it out), so here goes.

Scenario:

I have two Garmin GPS devices and alternate between them every month so as to keep the batteries happy and have a recent almanac, etc.

Let's say both devices have the same 90 Saved Places (Favorites, or whatever).

I swear the other day i ran the garmin updater and it told me my drivesmart had 2 updates, one for the time zone and one for the software to update to 9.60 (im at 9.40)
Today I finally got around to connecting it and it only told me there was a timezone update.

Does anyone know if there was a 9.60 update and they took it down for some reason?

My last two new Garmin GPSr's, a Drivesmart 65 and an RV 890, both shipped with a power cord hard wired to the old style 12V cigarette lighter plug. My last two new vehicles, a 2021 Buick and a 2022 GMC pickup, do not come equipped with this old 12V socket.

Just ordered a factory new Garmin RV 890 for $399. It's on sale thru 5/4 at Amazon.

Hello, new here and first post. I was searching for an elusive POI file from Ultimate Campgrounds that had in the past sold their POI list from their website apparently. However this was not offered by them after December of 2020. Currently the project for UC has stopped as of April 1, 2022. I am posting this in hopes of finding a way to get this data.

I powered up my old, trusty 2595 last week and it started booting, buzzed and then turned itself off. Nothing I did got it past that point, shutting off after every buzz.

I picked up a Drivesmart 66 as a replacement. Overall I like it.

I have had Garmin automobile GPS devices for a number of years. Last year I bought a Garmin Zumo XT for my Can-Am Outlander 450 ATV.

Yesterday, I bought two Gazelle Ultimate C380+ e-bikes for my wife and I to use. While I have a few Garmins, my Garmin Nuvi 500 and Zumo XT are probably the most weather resistant.

Can anyone help me, I have a old Garmin 660 that still works like new that I use in my truck, But I broke the Cradle mount for it where the ball fits. Anybody know where I might be able to get one ?

Garmin Express showed gmaptz.img v29 update was available for my nüvi 3597.
