Garmin Express release notes v7.14.0

Windows

-UI improvements to the checkout window for purchases.
-Resolved an issue with the Terms and Conditions not appearing for -Honda Gemini users updating their maps.
-Express no longer returns a user to the Hub when attempting to add an AOEM device and is added successfully.
-Express now displays if a chart is not compatible with the Marine devices in a Vessel.
-Improved performance when displaying Podcasts and Audiobooks in Express.
-Fixed a crash that occur for users when selecting Map Options.
-Made improvements to how sub folders are selected when selecting music locations for Express to list.
-Other minor bug fixes and improvements.

Mac

-UI improvements to the checkout window for purchases.
-Express now displays if a chart is not compatible with the Marine devices in a Vessel.
-Users will now be notified if the SD card is locked when attempting to install a Marine Chart update, rather than it just failing.
-Express correctly displays a banner for users who do not have an Internet connection now.
-Fixed multiple UI issues where text or buttons could be cut-off.
-Fixed an issue with multiple Podcasts showing up under a single album.
-Improved performance when displaying Podcasts and Audiobooks in Express.
-Users attempting to download a marine chart subscription are now correctly notified if the drive was disconnected, rather than showing a successful download.
-Fixed an issue to correctly display the number of updates available for Tread devices.
-Resolved a crash that could occur for users when selecting the Music Apps tab.
-Other minor bugs and improvements.

14 on SD Card no longer

14 on SD Card no longer gives option of partial map updates....

Loads entire map.... Making that map un-useable...

(This was fixed in last GE..) !! BROKE AGAIN!!!

Installed. Stupid that every time I install a GE update I have to Settings and uncheck "Always keep Garmin Express running in background". LOL

Yep and still starting up after any update! Anyway I just uninstall GE after I use it to upgrade maps on my GPSs. Much easier then let that automatic daemon take useful resources. It never seems to remain disabled.

Why does EVERY Windows application just assume your computer always has resources to run as background app sucking your resources and slowing your boot time. Oh wait so that app starts up 1 second faster.. ARGH!

There is some functionality obtained by having it run

There is one function obtained by having GE run in the background. After opening GE and the passage of about 3 to 5 seconds, a number may appear next to one of your configured devices. That number represents the number of updates that are available for the device. For instance, a few weeks ago I had "1" next to all my devices. On further inspection it said they had a time zone update available. I had a pending long trip, but I chose not to do the update because I was travelling totally within one time zone.

If I check Task Manager with GE running, it shows the used resources as less than 1% and about 90 MB of memory being used. Most likely if I do an update to GE, I immediately check to make sure it works OK, so it only takes 3 clicks to turn off the background operation if desired.
