I have a Nuvi 1680, and the mount suction cup is falling off the windshield every 2 days or so.

Garmin sent me another one when I complained about this, I installed it and a couple months later it's doing the same as the old one.

Hello... my virtual friends... My 465T told me today that my FM Traffic s/w needed to be updated. I searched Garmin site and found nothing helpful. Checked this site and was not able to obtain any info that steered me in the right direction..

Can someone assist and direct me to the proper place for this update?

In about 2009 I built a poi of all the school crossings here in Lawrence Kansas. When I got within a certain distance of one of these crossings a custom voice would say "school crossing ahead"....The POI is on this site. At that time I had a Nuvi 660, now I have a Nuvi 2597 and I can't remember how I got poi to use the "school crossing ahead" sound to work.

I'm not a tech head by any means and I use a Mac. This may be a really simple and stupid question, but I'm trying to get my Garmin Nuvi to load and display the Beall's Department Store POI files that are in .gpx format.

I couldn't find an answer in the FAQ section. Do I have to convert the file somehow to .csv? Or is there something else I should be doing?

Color LCD screens use polarizing filters. They shine the background light through a polarizing filter, then through the 3 color sub-pixels (which upset the polarization), then they use another polarizing filter at a 90 degree angle to the first to block out light that didn't pass through one of the colored sub-pixels.

Just notice that I was unable to find any speed trap in Ontario, Canada in CSV file.

I can find other provinces but not ON.

Have they been removed or I can't find them.

Windows 7 is hiding the "systems" folder on my 1450. This file appears using Windows XP.

Just Paid a speeding ticket for the wife, Total $450!
I was wondering if there is anyway to have her gps tell her or have some kind of alarm go off when she goes over the speed limit?
Are there any POI's that do this?

I recently updated my 3590LM and did not have enough internal memory to do a complete install. I have since purchased a 8 GB microSD card and can't seem to find a way to install/transfer all the maps to the SD card.

Has anybody experienced a 2797 shut off/resets? Just happened to me for no apparent reason. Have updated to 3.3. Thought perhaps it just overheated since it was 99 outside but had in a/c car so didn't think the case was that hot. Haven't tested it further since it crapped out just as we were about to exit the fwy in Hartford, ct, the worst possible time to,try to find the hotel w/o the unit.

I recently bought 2595. I am experiencing freezing issues on this unit. It freezes while on navigation mode.
I have to press power button for long time to shut it down. It is a hassle while you are driving on highway. I had to pull on the next exit and reset it. Anyone else having same issues on this model? I will appreciate your feedback.

Since Nokia has taken over Navteq, a new site, here.com, is now the place to submit map changes. Map Reporter is no longer in use. Once on here.com, click on "Map Creator", create an account, and start editing.

does anyone have an idea what the problem and remedy could be for my old nüvi 1340 which now and then switches itself off without reason? It happens especially when I start it up or connect/disconnect the usb cable for charging in the car.

I have a Garmin 1450 and I have a newer map version on SD card can I install the junction view 3D building and lane assistance on the same SD card .or do I must install it on the unit to make work?

But if I Install it on the unit then must I enable both map to make work or If i just select the new map and disable the older map on the Gps still would work?

I have this bookmark from -way- back when the nuvi 3xx series was first introduced and just checked and the page is still there. It's a blog written by the nuvi itself! Yes, it's kind of silly but it's still great to look back on it and how far we've come with the nuvi guiding our way.
