Garmin stock has gone from a high of approximately $123 down to approximately $68 recently. Why??

I am new to GPS. I have successfully downloaded custom POI's to my nuvi 260 thanks to this site!

I understand that in a gpx file, one can set proximity setting on individual pois. I have searched to try to find an example of this being done and haven't found it.

Anyone have a bit of code or a file they could refer me to to show how to set proximity setting in a gpx file? I would like to see a file so that I can grasp the concept...

Is there a basic naming convention to the Nuvi series of GPS units. At first I thought there was, but now I'm not sure.

For example Nuvi 3xx and 6xx appear to be the same except for screen size. If you go from a 350 to a 360 you add Bluetooth same as a 650 to a 660...

After downloading the software update for the traffic receiver, I noticed in the Garmin directory the RemoteSW directory. The only mention of it that I found here was in a discussion re: Bluetooth. There are two files in the directory, 006B055301.GCD (12/21/2007) and 006B063000.GCD (no date). Can anyone tell me what these are for.

Changes made from version 2.30 to 2.50:

* Added support for Madmaps.
* Added support for enhanced circular routes. The unit will detect when routes are circular and adjust the start and stop point to the point where you actually enter the route. (Existing routes will be cleared.)
* Added support for TTN Canada Traffic provider.

Does any one know if there is a limit number of folders that will show up under custom pois for c340?

Does anyone know if I can use my Garmin on a Mexican cruise without buying maps? Will I still see the land/ocean and just no roads or will it not be useable at all?

Does anyone know how to access the battery status on the 660?

We are new to this forum and want to know what POI we should download to our GPS. We have the maps that we downloaded initially but seem to be missing some places, like golf courses, some camp grounds, etc. Thought POI would help and it would just be one thing to download but it seems to be several, specific downloads that we need. I am confused about what to put into the GPS.

Well I finally took my c530 that I got for X-mas 2007 and put it to a real test on my first GPS road trip. Before this trip I was just driving around and testing it to see what it was capable of. Anyway I am happy to report that it did exactly what it was supposed to do and more.

I got http://www.gpsinformation.org/jack/cruise/cruise-a.html for my recent Mexico trip (Cancun & Akumal areas), and they were horrible. Most of the time, my Zumo was not tracking properly on the streets & there's a severe lack of POI info.

Just a quick note to let y'all know my bad experience.

I purchased a 1 GB SD card with the expressed purpose to download the new maps to. But I had second thoughts. How much memory does it take to load the new City Navigator 2008 maps to a C530? Is it possible to delete voice files, vehicle files to the minimum to clear the C530 memory enough to load the US and Ontario Canada maps directly to the GPSr?

Hi - I know it takes a long time for my Garmin Nuvi (370) to acquire the new satellite positions are a long plane ride. I am heading from NY to Venice and would like to be able to use the Garmin as soon as possible. Is there any way to make the acquistion faster. Does the Garmin recognize a change in home location, or, as I fear, is that just a waypoints like all others.

Hi, I have nuvi 750 and sometimes prior to using my GPS I do a GPS simultion for my route on my nuvi 750. Is there any possible way to controle the speed on route simulation. I believe this feature is available in Tom Toms, but I cannot seem to figure it out on mine.

Garmin stock is selling for around seventy dollars. Down from a hundred twenty five a short time ago. I hope this is not an indication of the direction the company is going.
Does anyone have knowledge of the company that would possibly explain this, except for the tech sector being weak at the moment?

Just got my active user's status today, installed the Red Light and Speed camera files.
