Hit on the wrench in the corner then on System. From there you can shut safe mode off.

That has nothing to do with

That has nothing to do with safe mode, when safe mode is disabled that still appears..When safe mode is enabled it doesn't let you make selections on screen while your driving. And to answer the original question you can not disable that

That works on the C330 and the C530 also and I'd bet all the others too, but I don't know that for sure.

Alert

Goes off in about 10 seconds on nuvi 750.

SAme thing with me it goes

SAme thing with me it goes off if you did not do anything.

I don't think you can remove this because its a disclaimer for you when using the GPS.

Liability

Did you happen to read the recent story of the moron who drove his car down some railroad tracks because he only listened to his GPS and was too stupid to look out his windshield. That is why Garmin wants the disclaimer to come on every time you power up the unit. I am sure their corporate attorneys insist upon it.

Garmin Nuvi 750 & c530 with RT's vol. mod., Vulcan Nomad

Yup

Even on-board sytems have the disclaimer warning. On mine, it I don't hit "OK", it just reverts to a clock on the screen. If I agree and hit "OK", it goes to the map screen. I have it set (like most GPS portable units) where I can still input data while the vehicle is moving (so that my wife can play with it).

How do I disable warning screen

You could go out and buy a Mio!... It costs a lot less and it's just as much fun -- And it doesn't display a warning screen on start up.

(Just kidding guys grin I don't want to anger the Garmin crowd... it's just a little slow over on the Mio forum.)

No you can't disable this... It's the company's way of avoiding to be sued.

Why Mio?

Actually I got my C320 for $150 which is as close to getting it from a cereal box as you're going to find. wink

You CAN disable the Warning screen on ALL Garmin

If you search on another GPS forum you will find that patches exist and can be created for the Garmin firmware to disable the warning message that is displayed upon booting. In fact the most recent patch I read about was to disable the start-up warning on the Suzuki Infotainment system and it does so by changing only one byte in the firmware (well technically only 3/8 of a byte but who's counting). I'm pretty sure you will meet with success if you post there requesting help with a patch for the firmware version of your particular Garmin.

not when in sleep mode

My 2555 only does that when its turned off. When its restarted from sleep mode, it does not.

Personally, I don't see why its a big deal. It takes only a couple of seconds to reach over and tap "I Agree".

2798 warning goes away

My 2798LMT model has the warning and then it disappears after a few moments thankfully.

Hope

Hope the OP has got his answer by now, or waited for the screen to disappear on it's own, since he asked his question in 2008. grin

If a human can program a GPS to display a warning then a human can figure out how to disable that warning. I followed these instructions and it worked for me: http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=141264
