If you're referring to the 4th column field of your POI, you'll have to use <br> to do your line breaks.
Your POI would be as follows:
longitude,latitude,name,"descrition1-description2<br>-description3-<br>very, very long description".
Note: Enclose 4th column in quotes if there is a comma in it.

No - possibly not.
Using csv input, POI Loader can only access the Description/Comment field. The Nüvi 3xx series truncates this data to 250 characters.
If you use gpx format and use the <email> field instead, you can have in excess of 5000 characters (that requires you to scroll down 23 times!).
Perhaps you would like to download the trial version of GeePeeEx Editor? Then you can simply type your text into the form provided, ensure "Target Device=Nüvi 3xx" and it will produce a .gpx file for you, with the data in the correct field.
