Adding a new file

I would like to update my "rest area" file, and add a new mp3 sound. I downloaded the combined rest area and mp3 sound file.
When I go to install it in my Garmin do I have to delete the old file first? Should I give the new file the same name so that it will overwright the old one?
Thanks for your help.

Did you load more than one file in gsp last time? New file will over write old file unles you change its name and changing the name will leave you with two rest area lists.

What needs to be done is re-load all your files again over writing old file. Be sure to name file with mp3 (or wav) same except extension different.

Read FAQ help files on loading tips.

Can I go into my Garmin and delete the old file first so that I can add a different sound flie this time?

Just delete the sound file

Just delete the sound file from your computer and add the new one.Make sure to name it the same as the csv file except the extension.Run poiloader and it will overwrite the custom poi files files on your gps.

When POI Loader compiles the POI.gpi file that gets loaded onto the gps, the sound file is included in the gpi file. When it is overwritten, the new sound file is included. It is not possible to change the sound file already compiled in an existing gpi file.
