I checked Garmin this morning, no map updates yet.

I guess they totally changed

I guess they totally changed their release schedule

Humbug

I am currently using the second newest map update rather than the most recent. I was planning on updating it before I go on vacation next week, and have been dragging my feet partially in hope of getting a newer map update.

It is looking less and less likely that a new map will be released before June 8.

Update

Thanks for the heads up

Can we start a pool on the

Can we start a pool on the page number?

Doesn't seem that long since the last one. My how time flies when you're having fun.

I believe 2013.40 was eventually made available for downloading on 2-21-2013.

So, you are right - it has not been that long since the last one...just a little over 2 months.

Did you use a Mayan calendar to base your calculation of 2 months? grin

Actually it's a bit more than 14 weeks (3 months & 2 weeks).

It appears there are problems with the map as there was with City Navigator Europe 2013.40. People downloaded that map only to later been pulled from their servers and only made 2013.30 available again.
Eventually they released 2013.41 having corrected the issues. City Navigator Europe 2014.10 also has not been released yet. Perhaps Garmin wants to make sure to get it right the first time before releasing the CNNA 2014.10 to avoid angry customers.

I am in no hurry to download, when I do, I will be backing up my 2013.40 map and all the related files that come with it. This way if there is a problem I don't have to download 2013.40 again. I'll simply copy the files back at a much faster rate.

Let's see now - from 2-21 (when the last update came out) to 4-29 (the date I posted the above quoted message) is indeed a little over 2 months as I said (NOT 3 months & 2 weeks as you said). Were you home schooled by a herd of goats? grin

Be interesting to see how many pages this goes before the update is ready to load

they need to move this thread to the weekly Chit Chat thread

They need to move this thread to the weekly Chit Chat thread. It's been over a month since the OP posted the original info with little to nothing now that actually deals with the subject. exclaim

Maybe they have decided to

Maybe they have decided to wait to release 2014.10 until Jan of 2014 to get the version numbers in sync with the calender.

Another day goes by.

Moving on.

17 pages

Then lord knows how long for the large JCV file.

Are we there yet?

Well...Here's to page 11 !

bpaine wrote:

Be optimistic

synctronic wrote:

In the past pre-2013.40 days, the wait was several days if posted at all. But the last update had the 2013.40 large JCV available almost instantly. Let's hope for a repeat this time when 2014.10 arrives.

I'm Wanting the Next Map Release

to be named 2013.50 and any after that to be named xxxx.nn, where xxxx is the year of release and nn is the next consecutive version for that year.
Just because some new car versions come out 7 months early doesn't mean maps titles have to. smile

Renaming Map Updates

I think that Garmin should reflect the naming of how many years that they are behind. Let's see, the next update should be called Pre2010.1.

...

They sure are taking their time. Wonder what the delay is.

Not ready for me either. sad

A possible reason for the delay...

Maybe this is why we haven't seen 2014.10 yet:

I am afraid

that by the time city Navigator 2014.10 North America is released, I might be too old to drive.

Maybe

Maybe and it's probably the reason why Garmin now forces a firmware update prior to updating the maps.

Check

Did that and updated the firmware on two GPS units.

With that OS X update, that usually means more good stuff to come at WWDC.
