Has been uploaded onto their servers meaning it should be released for download within the next 2 weeks or so.

New Maps

Downloaded 2013.40 NA 49 states to SD card last night for use on my Nuvi 50LM. Noticed some double POI entries of Casey's Stores in Central Illinois. Same address and LAT/Long. Maybe 2014.10 will fix it. LOL

It has been that way since 2011.4. I don't think it will ever be fixed. smile

So many people are saying Garmin should be more realistic about their numbering system, maybe they're going to wait until the first quarter of 2014 to release 2014-10. sad

TomTom map update is usually 1 week after Garmin. TomTom v.9.10 spring update has been out for 3 weeks now. Those wanting summer update may consider moving over. Garmin the leader has become the follower.

It's all about Garmin marketing. 2014 sounds good just like the 2014 Ford Mustang car when we are barely through half of 2013. They should have predictable release dates and sensible numbering though. A 2014 map doesn't make much sense but it's been that way for years.

Does TomTom use Navteq? I thought they used TeleAtlas.

Pronunciation of "County"

Anyone have any idea if the latest map update will fix the pronunciation of the word "county?"

It seems like every other map update, my Garmin 3790LMT pronounces the word as if it was pronounced "SOW-TEE." Confused the heck out of me the first time I heard it.

Yes, this is correct. But it is possible that the word in spelled wrong in the maps, causing the voice to pronounce it wrong. One of the roads near my house is like this.

Let's get back to the Genesis of this thread...

canuk identified through observation there was an identifiable pattern that Garmin historically followed between when Garmin loaded files to their servers and when they became public - and when canuk became aware the files were loaded to the server, this thread was started in expectation the established pattern would be followed... well, it obviously has not happened that way... so we're all in a 'hurry up and wait' mode... oh well.
