Is there a way to view the new maps online so we can check if there are any changes in our area?
They haven't updated the map online either. The coverage in section City Navigator® North America NT still shows 2013.40 on Garmin website..
As far as I know, Garmin still hasn't fixed the problems in Express that plagued them last time. I still read posts in several forums with complaints about not being able to use Express to install the map to the computer, Express saying there is a map update when there isn't, Express failing to install the map even when the unit contains enough storage, Express refusing to install to SD card, etc.
My theory is if we see a new version of Garmin Express released, the map updates will follow shortly.
.... to start probing for page 14.
While waiting on 2014.10 to be released I have:
Had 3 haircuts
Used 14 rolls of toilet paper
Cut 3 strokes off my golf handicap
Put over 2,000 miles on my vehicle
Trimmed my toenails 4 times
Trimmed my nose and ear hairs 5 times
Had my lawn mowed 6 times
Gained 6 pounds, then lost 8 pounds
Wore out a pair of flip-flops
And a multitude of other things...
Now I have to go pee again.
What drove the change is anyone's guess, but it was probably an attempt to stop piracy.
I have to wonder if all this mess to prevent "piracy" is really worth the grief. Since so many newer devices come with the "LM" or "LMT" moniker it is just a matter of time before all devices come with free map updates and the older devices are either dead or are no longer supported. This happened a few years ago when Garmin changed the maps to a newer "NT" format that is not supported on older devices.
I'm beginning to give up hope we will ever see Garmin 2014.10...... maybe Christmas?
Ahh Christmas would be just about right.....
Wot! still not here
13 pages of why or how come or when is it coming or should we get it. geeeeeeshh .
I am now going to hold my breath till it is out. Get ready. get set, holding********
of Triliby will be published tomorrow.
Do you think by then (My 2014 Vacation Picks) we'll have the maps?
Excellent point, I think your theory has some validity to it.
City Navigator Europe also has not been released yet, often times it's released before North America.
Your toenails are growing much too fast, or you should run bare foot in the street. LOL
Now I have to go pee again.
Well, this is a good sign. Mapquest has finally been updated with new information as of today. As far as I can tell, this is the first time new information has come in since 2 weeks or so before the 2013.40 update.
Let the wait for 2014.20 commence.
it's the dog's fault
Folks, Garmin decided to skip the 2014.10 and will release the 2014.20 instead. Release date will be announce later.....who know? lol
2014.10 Has Been Canceled. Let the wait for 2014.20 commence.
You may be right!
I've been waiting so long for 2014.10...that my contact lenses prescription has changed.
At least it keeps the windmill turning
Try map Updater now.
I also checked & it's out
Maybe the Mods can lock this thread now as it serves no further purpose, if it ever did.
Yay! Just in time for vacation. I guess (page) 13 wasn't unlucky after all. Downloading in Garmin Express now! Where can I get the large Junction View file though?
Not out yet and only Garmin knows if there will be one.
If there is one released and it follows the naming convention of previous versions it will be at:
But there is no guaranty that that's were it will be or that there will even be one.
Thanks for the link. Is that for the full screen, or split screen version?
Couldn't someone with a newer model that gets the large file automatically upload it here for us to use?
Update, rename, and test was fine...... External SD card for a NUVI 660.
I'm trying something new.... I alternate between two SD memory cards... Each has the Garmin directory and renamed files on it...
When updates come out, I update one card, rename files, and then swap cards....
This way, I have the previous version maps on a second card, and should something go horribly wrong, I just swap cards and reboot...
It's the full screen view file. There is no such thing as a split screen downloadable file that I know of. It's just part of the map update.
Anyhow the large file is now available (record time) at:
2013-06-12. Garmin map update just worked for me so it's out. Now to find someone with the large Junction View JCV file somewhere...
All is right with the world, err North America anyways! The above JCV link worked like a champ.
Darn thought might make 20.
