I don't know if someone is

I don't know if someone is already working on or if one already exists, I would like to see road side attractions, specially along highways and main roads. The attraction should require 10-20 minutes of time. The main idea is to have alternative to rest areas, or breaks when going locally. Also to give business to local communities. Some examples are, "Truck museum" near, world's largest truck stop etc.

RoadSideAmerica web site has many of these. But not in POI form.

This way, those places will get more footfall, and business and people will get to break their journey in more interesting way.

NTN / Buzztime Trivia Locations

Hi All,

NTN / Buzztime has been around since the early 90's and developed a great deal of followers to play trivia in your favorite bar.
The locations change somewhat, but not to often.

A POI list would be great.
(the last version I can see are on GPS-Passion forum)

A more accurate and updated version would be nice.

Thanks

Public tennis courts

I'd welcome a POI for public tennis courts (it would be nice if the description included if the court conditions - cracked surface, torn nets, no center strap). Sorry if I'm asking for pie-in-the-sky. I'm new here.

Disc golf courses

Any chance for a disc golf POI listing?

Disc golf courses

I don't remeber the exact post but there is someone that has been trying to get the info and is now looking for help to put a poi together. Edit update here is the link to this subject.

RoadSideAmerica POI

There is the "Offbeat Tourist Attractions" POI at http://www.poi-factory.com/node/5992 , but that isn't limited to only attractions along highways and main roads.

There was some discussion in March 2007 about creating a POI based off info from RoadSideAmerica. http://www.poi-factory.com/node/1969 It doesn't look like anyone followed it up with a POI.

There is the "I-10 Offbeat" POI at http://www.poi-factory.com/node/22431 as RoadsideAmerica from Los Angeles to New Orleans along the I-10.

In sum, "Offbeat Tourist Attractions" POI probably contains most locations listed at RoadSideAmerica.com. RoadSideAmerica.com doesn't seem to limit its sites to only those that require 10-20 minutes of time, so it would be hard to create such a POI. If you have a list of " road side attractions, specially along highways and main roads. The attraction should require 10-20 minutes of time", I would be happy to turn that into a POI.

Buzztime at a bar or restaurant near you

February 28, 2010: In April 2007, there was a request for "NTN Trivia / Buffalo Wild Wings" at http://www.poi-factory.com/node/3094, but since the request wasn't so clear, it was turned into a request for Buffalo Wild Wings Locations.

March 1, 2010 update: I added a Buzztime Game Establishments POI at http://www.poi-factory.com/node/28049

Hi all. How about a POI file for all Jack In The Box restaurants? If it helps at all (not sure, because I have absolutely NO clue how these files are created), I'm listing the addresses of the now-open stores, and the Google World coordinates for one in the process of opening soon.

AllPoint ATMs?

idea Hi again. I know you already have the POI files for the AllPoint ATMs in NYC/Long Island, and DE/VA/DC area. Is there a "common" location to look this specific type (brand) of ATM?

If it wouldn't be too much to ask, I'd like to request a POI file for all AllPoint ATM's.

I started looking at this as a project as my bank also uses Allpoint. At the time I looked you had to search pretty much by city or zip and with 20,000+ locations ...

Allpoint ATMS are in all Target stores and Gary A does a great job on keeping these up. Their stores cover most larger cities so it works while I'm on the road.

All You Can Eat POI

funk8nguy, the Garmin GPS system have lists of Buffet, but as you and I know, they are out of date. Often, I've selected a buffet in my GPS on the fly, only to drive there and find it closed.

Churches & Other Places of Worship

Thank you for the "Churches & Other Places of Worship" poi. I am the pastor of one of these churches currently listed as "Chappell Hill Methodist Episcopal Church" but the name has changed to "Chappell Hill United Methodist Church" and the location is not correct. The correct co-ordinates are:

-96.252791
30.141283

Can this information be corrected? The web-site for the church is www.chappellhillumc.org and on the "Sermons” you can see a picture of the original name of the church.

Here is the history of Chappell Hill United Methodist Church:
The first official organization of the Wesleyan movement in the United States occurred in Baltimore, Maryland in 1784 with the formation of the Methodist Episcopal Church.

In 1844 the General Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church split into two conferences (North and South).

In 1849, Chappell Hill's founders, Jacob and Mary Haller, dedicated an acre, adjacent to the Chappell Hill Academy, for a church site. The first church building was erected in 1853 and continually served as a house of worship until September 9, 1900 when it was destroyed by the Great Storm of 1900. The present building was constructed in 1901.

The two General Conferences, Methodist Episcopal Church (or northern section) and Methodist Episcopal Church, South remained separate until the 1939 merger of these two denominations plus a third, the Methodist Protestant Church, the resulting church being known as The Methodist Church.

On April 23, 1968, The United Methodist Church was created when The Evangelical United Brethren Church and The Methodist Church joined hands at the constituting General Conference in Dallas, Texas.

Weird NJ is a magazine and website dedicated to local legends and best kept secrets. It would be cool to have a POI for those sites that can be visited.

How about a bridge-weight limit POI for truckers? For example, the POI will give me warning that my present route will cross a bridge with a 8 ton weight limit. That would come in handy if my truck weighs 40+tons.

Golf Courses

I'd like to see all the public golf courses in the NorthEast. I think it would be helpful as (my guess) many GPS folks like to play golf and would like to know which public courses are near them.

While many of them seem "mail to" addresses, there might be some good "drive to" addresses (e.g., celebrity statutes, parks named for a celebrity, etc.)
