Looking up a poi.

Once I program in a POI, how do i find it again when i need it?

I need to program in all of the "CFN Commercial Fuel Network" locations.
I was thinking about programming them into Favorite Locations, instead of POI's.

I need to be able to select a FIND CFN option, and get to the closest gas station.

Is this possible using POI's, or should I just stick to the Favorite places?

Did you look in your 'Extras' folder and click on Custom POIs?

pois

I think it would be better to use custom pois. When you click on CFN Commercial Fuel Network listed in custom pois it will show the closest 50 to you starting with the shortest distance.Just touch screen and touch go.Favorites on most units will only allow 500.

Just for the heck of it i

Just for the heck of it i went to the site and wow. there are many many sites, I am like charlie is, I would use a card and do it that way, you would be taking up a lot of space on your unit, and I would think that just by looking if you wanted ALL of them you would have more than the 500.To get all of them that would almost take a group of people to get it done in any repectable time frame.

over 30,000 .... have fun

"And CFN now offers: FleetWide, giving you access to over 30,000 fueling locations including cardlock, retail and truck-stop locations in strategic marketing areas"

You might want to just do half.

It's much easier to mange

It's much easier to mange your POI's if you install them in the Custom POI area than it is in the Favorites (at least it is for me). And you can search them just as easily. You can set up a subfolder in your POI main folder on your PC for that category alone, and make them easy to find. Then when you open that category (Extras - Custom POI - your category) on your GPS the nearest one to your current location will always be at the top of the list. And adding and deleting them is as easy as editing the POI file on your PC then uploading the new POI file. In favorites you have to delete each entry one by one, which I've found to be a pain.
