OK, I became a registered user earlier this month, and I have setup the Red Light and Speed Zone camera POI files on my GPS...

in the name of the flagged locations, there are some numbers, often something like ".01 x 44". What does that mean?

I've downloaded the red light camera POI list, including an icon and sound. Since (fortunately) there are no cameras anywhere nearby, is there a way to test that I've loaded this properly.

Actually, testing ANY POI files would be a good thing. See if I get what I'd expect to get. I've told that you only see some POIs on maximum zoom though.

The third field in the redlight warning file provided by Miss POI reads as follows: Red Light Camera .01xd0 or Red Light Camera .0221k amongst many variations. I am curious as to what the .01xd0 etc. means or relates to. Is it a code that produces copy or an event to occur? just wondering.

There was an article in our local paper which mentioned what to me was an astounding statistic. Kingsport has I believe 6 redlight cameras which have been operating 4 or 5 months. They have recorded 19000 violations in that short period of time. They didn't say if each one of those resulted in a ticket being issued but at a $100 each that's a lot of money.

When it says on the site Greater New York City Area (169) does that mean that there are only 169 cameras in that file ? Also what does Greater New York City Area ? Does that include Long Island ? If so which county ?

As the technology is developing, the installation of red light cameras is also changing. Couple of years ago Town of Vienna and The City of Falls Church in Fairfax County, Virginia installed new types of cameras in their busy intersections. These cameras are video cameras which records the red light crossers, not only the still picture but the whole movement of that particular moment.

I have nuvi 350. Seems like whenever i approach intersection, 'redlight camera ahead' warning goes on twice. If the light is red, it may speak 3 times. gets annoying. i put 'single tone' in proxmity alerts.

I was asked a question I couldn't answer. If you're in the intersection when the light turns red, does the camera take your picture or the car that enters the intersection after the light turns red?

Seeing more red

i think it'd be more convenient to see intersections rather than various alphanumeric letters.
