Thanks to TXRVer for the fun suggestion!

Which will come out first, new map from Garmin or baby giraffe?
And when?!

Personal Weather Station

Ok, here is another Open Talk topic that I would like to get some information about. I have been thinking about getting a personal weather station, not because I need it, but just because I am a gadget geek and like to follow the weather. It seems like it would be an interesting hobby.

Yay snow...NOT!

Well again, we're getting snow on Long Island, and again, I can't enjoy it. Have to go into work and just be there. Why did I start in tech support? confused

Garmin info versus custom poi's

Just downloaded the Dunkin Donut custom POI file. But why? I just have to ask it to "find place" and then Dunkin Donut. I see direct advantages to red light alerts, but not much so in the DD poi. What am I missing?

Do You Like Daylight Savings Time?

I do enough travel across time zones every year that I easily adjust to the new time. That said, I personally would rather not change.

What is your opinion about Daylight Savings Time (for those who have to change)?

Repairing a Damaged SD Card

I had an SD card that would not read and could not be formatted. I found a Panasonic utility that can read and reformat an "unreadable" card. Info and a download link for the utility can be found here:

Is there a way to import Basecamp waypoint symbol into the 60LMTHD instead of the standardized symbol of the 60LMTHD

Gander Mountain files for bankruptcy

Yesterday, Gander Mountain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, not for the purpose of reorganization but for the purpose of selling itself. They anticipate auctioning themselves off by the end of April and completing the sale by mid-May. Pretty aggressive schedule. In the meantime, they'll be closing 32 stores in the next several weeks:

Maybe you can share the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you used it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.).

Anything to keep your windmill alive.

Got to use American Standard Toilet Warranty

About a month ago, Wife commented there was a hairline crack in the tank of our upstairs toilet... American Standard White, Tall, Elongated.
Bought from Lowes in 2013 when the house here was built.. I contacted builder who had the receipts, and they contacted Plumbing Subcontractor, to see about who to call, but plumber & Wife on vacation--Yeah it's the slow season...
