Memorial Day 2015.
This is the place to talk about things that are not GPS related.
This thread will be closed on Monday and a new one will be opened.
Apple Maps may soon be able to tell where you are on a map with more precise detail than standard GPS technology. Apple purchased GPS firm Coherent Navigation, which uses low-orbit communication satellites to track location within inches -- rather than feet.
Garmin Express v188.8.131.52 is out. Your call to update or not.

Thanks for all you do, Alandb!
I currently am still rocking an old school Casio G-Shock wristwatch. I am well aware that there are connected watches these days, but I have not made the switch yet. Anyway, for those that have made the switch, would the ability to use GPS maps on a watch be of any real benefit or is it simply a novelty, at best?
I've been researching fitness trackers for awhile, wavering on if I really NEED one or just WANT one, and which one should I get if I were to break down and make a purchase.
I see there are several with GPS capability, the Garmins(of course), it looks like there's a TomTom highly rated by runners and a Magellen.
The Fitbit's seem to be the most popular, they just don't have GPS capability.

As a contributor, I wish I could do certain things like:
1. Upload bmp icons or files together with the gpx and csv files, instead of having to email them to email@example.com.
2. Post image files--jpg, bmp, gif, etc.--in topics and forums to describe or illustrate a point, directly instead of using links to photo-sharing sites.
Sink full of MAYO!
This week we’re recognizing, Rich7041!
Rich7041 has been with POI Factory for over a year, joining us when his search for a Pickleball POI led him to our discussion thread.
He created a file and recently made 304 updates to the file.
Once you get past the GPS basics and annoying ads, this is an interesting read on how GPS technology is being used to aid asthma patients.
On this file, some line begins with ‘‘Wm Nbrhd Mkt’’. What does this means.
In danger of losing your windmill?
Maybe you can share the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you used it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.).
Anything to keep your windmill alive.
