message for wscaswell

wscaswell, a couple of things:

1. Your US & Canada Covered Bridges POI file has an invalid first record, "Long,Lat,BName,Desc." You should delete it.

2. Here's a covered bridge you don't have. It's in the city of Geneva in Ashtabula County, Ohio, and at 18' it happens to be the shortest covered bridge in the country.

hotel reservations--seamless?

I no longer travel for work, stopped when the pandemic hit.

Booked a hotel in Alexandria VA (Marriott franchise). $94 before taxes which imho is good. none of the travel websites had anything cheaper for same property.

Checked in at 8 AM lol with the app, room key ready.

That is a real plus to be able to do that over 3 PM EST. Only we're not there yet.

Red Light and speed cameras

Just updated to the most recent camera apps.
We have an Arctic front moving in starting this evening. Will bundle up for my daily walks.

IPad 16.3 released

A fairly quick update compared to some.

Also, a security update was released today for older iPads that can’t use version 16.x. I believe it was 15.7.3.

first check, last check

It's sorta interesting how for many of us, if we've been at a job for a long time, imho there is likely a pay period in mental limbo. If I quit on this day, what am I owed?

My first job, if we got paid on Friday, that takes us through that day.

Why, I have no idea, because what if a person called in sick that day?

Do You Shop for the Best Electricity Rates?

Unfortunately, there are only a dozen states that have deregulated the power companies operating within their borders. The list is available here:

https://www.electricchoice.com/

For those who have the ability, and do shop for the best rates, what has been your experience?

do you ever tell yourself you've done nothing wrong

So why worry, pull an Alfred E Neuman?

I feel that sometimes the nature of society is to protect itself, so assume you've done something wrong, and prove you have not.

Examples.

Well, just today, I checked in at Yelp and a 15% discount popped up. Showed it to the waitress and she said no problem.

Another password manager perhaps in trouble. See https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/nortonlifeloc...

posting to keeping the windmill alive

HI, am posting this as my input for downloading the poi files for Red light cameras and speed cameras. When I click on keeping the windmill alive all I get is a small box with no place to input my comments. Am I doing something wrong? I have looked around where to post other than here with no luck. I have emailed support with no responses. Or am I just stupid???
Regards

if you forget to tell financial institutions

about your new cell#, it is an amazing process!

I have 3 401k's, and was locked out of 2/3 because they all wanted to do 2-factor authentication via text to the old cell.

The current 401k believe it or not I had not setup my online access, but thought I had. The reason is emails were going to my personal email mentioning 2-factor. My employer switched effective 1/1/22.

ADAS systems in cars (driving assistance)

Anyone have practical experience with advanced driving assistance systems in cars other than Tesla?

Specifically wondering about the ones that can operate in heavy traffic. Does it work well? Stop and go traffic can be brutal.
