Contributors Of The Week 2017-11-06
This week’s Contributor of the Week is, Ralphy1!
Ralphy1 maintains the ever popular North American Breweries file!
I don’t know about the Eastern US, but local breweries are popping up everywhere across the Pacific Northwest.
I believe we’ve had 3 more open just in my area in the last year.
Thanks for the work you put into this file Ralphy1!

Browser thoughts for a good overall news page
I like to visit one general overall news site daily to see what's happening in the world in terms of news, entertainment, technology, etc., etc. For many years now, I've been reasonably happy using msn.com.

Google: Data Breaches Account For Most Stolen Credentials
In a study that ran from March 2016 to March 2017, researchers from Google, the University of California, Berkeley and the International Computer Science Institute discovered that data breaches were the No. 1 way to steal users’ account credentials. Far behind them were phishing and keyloggers.

Stephen Hawking says artificial intelligence could 'destroy' humanity
Artificial intelligence could sideline and “destroy” its human creators if engineers cannot get a grip on the ethics behind it, Stephen Hawking has warned.
Speaking at the Web Summit in Lisbon, the theoretical physicist said AI has the potential to be the best or worst thing humanity has ever seen and the scary reality is we just don’t know which yet.

Windows by the numbers: Windows 7 won't shrink fast enough
Migration watch: In October, Microsoft's most popular OS continued to be Windows 7; it powered 51.4% of all Windows machines. Meanwhile, Windows 10 ran 32.8% of Windows PCs.
Windows 7 surrendered a few more users last month as its share of the overall Windows universe slipped a bit closer to 50%.

Epson ET Series Printers
If anyone is in the market for a new printer, a friend of mine told me of one a while back and I finally picked one up last week. The one I picked up is the Epson ET-3750. While this particular one may not be for everyone, the ET series in particular is what's interesting. It is an inkjet BUT it doesn't use ink cartridges. It actually has ink wells.

Popular Mechanics Smart Car Charger
I was at a Walmart this weekend and noticed a Popular Mechanics Smart Car Charger on display. I gather that it works with an app on your Smart phone to geotag where you park your vehicle when you disconnect the power cord. I am curious if anybody here has tried this yet.

What privacy?
I have Windows 10 on my laptop and Win10 comes with a calendar. I've just this past week started using the calendar. Well, a couple of days ago I opened it in the morning and found that someone (Microsoft, Google, who knows) had filled in the day of each month that my wife and I will receive our Social Security checks.

Fitbit Forces Location Services
I got a new phone with Android 6 and I loaded Fitbit app.
I was forced to turn on location services. I have a Fitbit Zip which does not have GPS connectivity.
Does anyone have idea why Fitbit forced this?
