I have a Nuvi 255W that I had not charged the battery on in about a year. I plugged it in and the unit is totally dead. Yes I know it is old, but for certain applications I really liked that 255W. Any thoughts on how to resurrect the unit?

On my 855, I could press/hold the speed display and a Test/Diagnostic screen would come up allowing various tests to be completed and show additional info about the device.

Is there a similar function on the 2597?

Garmin's maps are way better than what comes standard in any automobile. IMHO.

Does anyone legitimately know why?

My Garmin 855 crashes almost every day that I use it. It usually works fine for a few hours then it locks up. The only way to get it working again is to remove the battery. Then it's good for awhile again. It does have the latest firmware.
Is there a setting I can change or is it just junk?

Thought I would Google my 3790LMT just for the heck of it and amongst other sites selling them in the $400+ range found this one for $1,924.84 and couldn't resist passing it on in case someone wants to have the most expensive 3790 ever sold.

I received my first GPS as a gift this year, its a Nuvi 52. At this point, I am just entering addresses directly every time to get directions to a new location, but it appears to have other features I have not tried. I was wondering what are the most popular features? Also I am curious what the differences are between my 52 and the devices that seem to be more common with POI forum contributors.

I am considering upgrading to a dezl 560. I have some questions for someone who has one.

i have looked in a lot of places both here and the web and not run across this. Maybe i overlooked it. my garmin 2797 has about 142 mb left for storage. i have gone thru and removed voices , texts and keyboards. there is a folder under SID that has 1 gb ,then ASR has 3 gb. so you can see storage is full. I don't have a lot of extra stuff that i remember loaded in it.

I've used 4.0.8.0 to update maps and I'm now trying to find the setting that says "device / computer / both", to verify that I should have 2015.30 on disk, too. Earlier versions also allowed me to specify WHERE on the computer to place maps. (I can only find the setting for backup location.)

I just purchased a 2014 Durango, and it comes with a Garmin Navigation System. I will keep my trusty 1490 with lifetime maps, just in case.

But I've got a couple of questions already. The owners manual seems to leave out any information on using the nav system. Since I bought the car used, maybe there is some other documents I'm missing.

So, I have a 3597 and I'm wondering how all the space is being taken up in memory.

Windows Explorer says there is 7.01 GB of disk space. There is only 1.22 GB free and I have deleted all the non-essential voice, text, keyboard, help, etc. files.

Anybody have a problem where the music from the SD card pauses for a second then restarts and continues until turned off. I've changed cards and it does the same thing. card seems to work fine on the computer

Currently using the latest version of Garmin Express (4.0.8.0) on Windows 7 64-bit.

A few versions ago, I stated getting notification on the notification bar that updates are available for my Garmin device. When I launch Garmin Express, it says everything is up to date. It doesn't matter if the my 2450 is plugged into the computer or not.

Just checked for GE updates and it downloaded 4.0.8.0 !!

Voices and Vehicles worked.

Of course, it may not next time. We'll see.

Pinout is:
+5V RED
Ground BLACK

I have a 3490LMT. It doesn't appear that Smart Link is available for this model unless I use Android only. Is this correct? It seems that later models like the 3597LMTHD is able to run either iOS or Android.

I was looking at the Garmin website and I noticed that 2015 Essential Line is listed, but nothing for Advanced or Prestige. I seem to recall that the consensus here was that the Prestige Line ended with the Nuvi 3597. Do we know if there will be a 2015 Advanced Line and, if so, could models for that pretty much be announced at any time?

Our new 2689 has a higher resolution screen than the 660 does.
Therefore, the BMP files look physically smaller on the 2689 than 660...
