Garmin talk

Has anyone tried to run Garmin WebUpdater recently? When I launch it (most recent version 2.5.7), I just get an error banner saying "There was an error communicating with the Garmin Servers". I am running a old version of Windows Vista, so that could be the problem. Is anyone else having this problem with WebUpdater?

Garmin Express v6.9.1.0 is ready to download.

Just downloaded without any problem on my Windows 10 computer. I did have to uncheck the "keep running in background" box as in previous versions.

I am using Garmin 2598. Everytime when I start my car, this Garmin device shows "a file required for traffic is missing". I have already updated the device through Garmin Express. It's kind of annoying since I need to press OK to delete this info when I use it in everytime. Can anyone tell me how to solve this problem?

I tried to use GTM 60 with my Smartdrive 61 LMT so that someone else uses my car can still get traffic without Smartlink app but it kept showing me to connect to Smartlink app for traffic information. Is there a way to make it connect with GTM 60? I will appreciate your help..

I'm contemplating getting a BC-30 backup camera and it comes with power cord that has the hardware FM traffic receiver built in. I already use the Android Smartphone App and find it satisfactory. Will the traffic receiver and the app play well together? Is there a parameter where I select one or another? Will I be giving up the app?

A couple weeks ago my Nuvi 3597 would connect to both the laptop and desktop. Now they don't. Since that last connection both PCs were updated with KB4462930 and KB4462919. Is this a coincidence or is there a problem with those updates? Anyone else experiencing problems? Thanks in advance.

Garmin Express is offering a firmware update on my 3 Garmin LMTHD devices for the GTM 60/70 traffic receivers.

My mother-in-law has a Garmin Nuvi 3597. The car she has now has Blueooth. She would like to have the following:

-Bluetooth to the car stereo system for telephone calls

-Bluetooth to the Garmin Nuvi 3597 for traffic and weather (no calls)

Example, IL is in yellow, WI is grey when zoomed in at 20/50 mi (basecamp/mapsource respectively) or closer.

Why are they in different colors?

Just received the GPS yesterday afternoon. It came in a "Refurbished" Garmin smaller label box, not the retail box.

Having seen some dialogue about refurbished Garmins I paid very close attention to this GPS.

NOT 1 single scratch on the case or screen. No sign of any use or wear. Absolutely no saved way-points etc. The installed maps were 2016.2 which I updated to 2019.2.

Well my old "trusty ?" 855 is now being retired.Using all the tricks I had learned over the years the 855 just won't connect to the power on the cradle. It will charge via USB but that is useless out on the road.

I can not get my Custom POI to isplay on the above mentioned map.

Is there a setting I have to change in my nuvi 2689 or a specific folder where I have to place the OSMap ?

I have GTM 60 cable that has stopped working. What easiest
way to open the 12 volt end plug? I realize that there is
a silver plug contact, a fuse and spring on the inside of
the end assembly, but I am wondering how the pressed plastic
plug elements come apart.

Is it possible to install gmapdm.img file on these new generation of units like drivesmart 61?

i loaded routes into the driveassit 51, but can not find them. Originally i used basecamp, the second time I tried using a GPX file, I got message that the routes were already in the GPS but I can not locate them. any Ideas?

Have had my Drive Smart 61 several times now, tells me that the interstate is closed ahead and recalucaltes to avoide. This has occured on several different interstates (57, 75, and 24). Have ignored and once I get further down the road it again recalculates and cointinues on the origional route.

Has anyone else had this issue?

I was looking for an address this evening and I noticed that Google Maps refers to a road as Juhles Road and Garmin Mapsource refers to the same road as Juhls Road. Not a huge deal, of course, at least not for me, in this case. I Am just curious which one is more likely to be correct?
