BC-30, Traffic receiver/vehicle power cable, and Android Smartphone App

I'm contemplating getting a BC-30 backup camera and it comes with power cord that has the hardware FM traffic receiver built in. I already use the Android Smartphone App and find it satisfactory. Will the traffic receiver and the app play well together? Is there a parameter where I select one or another? Will I be giving up the app?

Searching the both the owners manual and the install manual for the word "smart" yields nothing.

If you have the Smart link

If you have the Smart link app, when you connect to the Garmin BT, the internal traffic receiver will be disabled and the Garmin will use the data from Smart Link. It is seamless and you will not notice the difference. It won't affect the camera app.

Works With iPhone

I can't speak for Android but my BC30 works fine with Smartphone Link on my iPhone 7+.
