DEM file on Drivesmart 61

Is it possible to install gmapdm.img file on these new generation of units like drivesmart 61?

Yes

Yes, you can install a DEM file but if the unit didn't come with one/doesn't support DEM presentation then the file will not be used and is just taking up storage space.
