Good morning friends,
I forgot how to unhide System folder on Garmin devices. My windows are set to show all files though. I will appreciate your help.

Thanks for your suggestions.
Thanks for your suggestions. Actually, I was trying to remember settings in Garmin. Then I remember about MTP seetings to change to Mass Storage. This change enables the hidden files on Garmin. All Good now..

Maybe my problem?

Recently I bought a smartdrive 50-something, then a smartdrive 60-something. For both devices the very first time I plugged them into my laptop via the USB port they IMMEDIATELY hung showing nothing more than the word GARMIN and the battery level showing. I sent both devices back to Amazon and continue to use my nine-year-old 1450.
I was unaware of the link CraigW's link above. Might that have been my problem? The description in the link says wait for the "volume" to display then press and hold the upper right corner. (1. Bring up the volume screen on the GPS.) Might it also work if it hangs on the Garmin/battery display?

"No misfortune is so bad that whining about it won't make it worse."
My thoughts

The link you mentioned above is for the PC and I think you meant to reference the 2nd link regarding MTP:

Yes, you may want to be in MS mode for your Garmin to appear as a drive on your computer. Also, another possible issue:

With a new Garmin device, I strongly suggest that you charge the device overnight to have a full battery charge before trying to connect the Garmin to a computer.
