"voice" volume
Thanks to this great forum, I have added my voice to alert me when approaching a red light. The thing is my voice (mp3) is loud and clear... unfortunately the driving directions "voice" is very low in comparison. Can these voices be tweaked, hacked or something to raise the volume?
I have a Garmin nuvi 360.

POI Loader and GPSMAP 60CS
I have a GPSMAP 60CS and I cannot get Garmain's POI loader to see it. I get a message saying that it found a GPS unit but it is not compatible. Is the problem me or is the 60CS no compatible with this software? I can see in the disscussions here that someone has use it with the 60CSx. Is there that much difference between a 60CS and a 60CSx?

Garmin Map updates
So when does Garmin update the maps? There is one road here that was a dead end but about three years ago was built through to another road. This still shows on the built in map as a dead end. I have only had the unit for three months but I thought that the maps were newer than three years old.

Nuvi 350 vs TomTom One
I just bought a Nuvi 350. My son just bought a TomTom One at significantly less cost. The major difference between the two is that the Nuvi has TTS while the TomTom does not. But the TomTom software seems siginificantly better. The two features it has that I'd kill for are: 1) multiple waypoints; 2) selectively changing the calculated route.

SD Cards
Can someone tell me why I should use an SD card in my Nuvi 350. I can't seem to find anything in the instructions saying it can read from the card while it is running, such as POI it always asks if I want to copy the info the unit's memory.
Thanks for your input

Car antena
Wondering if I could get some thoughts on an external antena for the car. I have a Nuvi 350 and it seems to do well but any thoughts on the extra antena?

Questions about Nuvi 680
Currently I have a Garmin i5 and my hubby is wanting to give it to his friend who can't afford one. Since we will be replacing this I am looking at the Nuvi 680 and want to hear from you folks that have one. Is it worth the $$$ for the additional features?

Garmin Customer Service is A1
While on a trip last week, the suction cup mount came free, and the whole setup hit the dash. Unbeknown to me, the plastic clip (socket) that holds the ball had one of the four tangs break off. This part at most would cost a nickel and could be replaced by removing the single Phillips head screw.

Vehicle Icons for the Garmin
Anyone know if there are any other websites, other than the actual Garmin website, to download other kinds of vehicle icons? Is it possible to upload one of your own to the GPS as well?

More Map Info .... fact or fiction?
I called Garmin this morning about another issue, so thought while I had him on the phone I'd ask about the new maps.
I asked what's the latest on V9 maps? He said they're not v9 ..... they're called v2008. The new maps versions go by the year.
I asked when are they going to be available. He said they already are on some new units; so August or September time frame would be a guesstimate.
Then I asked him what the update procedure is. His answer was 'no free updates because their map producer was complaining that they weren't receiving enough $$ when the maps were given away'.
Just another tidbit of information. Fact or Fiction? Who knows??

Updated 6/13/2007 .... may be fact??
I got the same info this morning when inquiring about the changed North American NT Map Update Page. I was told it will be version 2008 (not v9) and will be available end of July or first part of August.
I was also told again you'll have two choices ... don't update or fork out the cash for the new version! No freebies. (although I can't help thinking this may change if enough people complain.)

Regarding v9 maps
Just curious, but when the new maps come out, do GPS units with the new maps ship before, at the same time, or after the maps are individually available? Or does anyone even know?

V9 Update question for dis-similar units
Ok,
So my new nuvi 660 has NT V8. When V9 comes out, I plan on upgrading it. I know Garmin has a 2 device policy for their s/w. I also have a GPSMAP60Cs that currently has City Select North America V6 in it (I skipped an update or two).

Problem adding UK Traffic Master Subscription to a North American Nuvi 670
I have been trying for some time now, prior to a trip to England, to purchase the $60 UK lifetime FM Traffic subscription code for my North American Garmin Nuvi 670 which is accessed through > www.garmin.com/fmtraffic < but I keep running into a problem at a drop-down list at step 5 where I am supposed to select my unit type, but it isn't listed. Has anyone else met with this problem?

"More" info in POI's loaded on Nuvi 680
I recently purchased a Nuvi 680 and have been experimenting with creating POI files and loading them using Garmin POI Loader v2.41. All of the info I've read indicates that the Nuvi has the capability to add pictures and descriptions to the POI data for each location, however, I can't seem to get this to work with my Nuvi.
