So I used the Webupdater to install V3.80 software into my 660. After the install, I got the usual "install more software" screen (the one where you can install new vehicle icons, voices etc).
This time there was an option to "Update Bluetooth Firmware". I went ahead and did it (kind of hoping that my Samsung Blackjack would have full BT capability with the Nuvi). There was no description of what the "update" was on the screen. Does anyone know what they did? The Nuvi still can not access my phonebook

Not sure what it does/did -
Not sure what it does/did - but - I had one heck of a time trying to re-establish communications between my Nuvi 660 and Treo 680 after I did the "upgrade". Took me quite a while and a reset to get it done. Sometimes I think things are "better if they're not fixed".
Agreed

I agree. Sometimes I wonder if Garmin is being run by ex-Microsoft folks

nuvi660
yes
Because that is what the update was supposed to do. Not a problem now, more like "working as designed"...
