I am wondering if anybody here knows if I were to get an ATSC convertor box, could I watch over the air digital broadcast television by using a Garmin Nuvi 5000 GPS as the display device?

I am trying to change the splash screen on a 7200. When I hook up the usb I see The audio, Mp3 and a Garmim image file. What do I use to get to the splash screen file?

I just saw a Nuvi 750 yesterday at Sam's and I noticed that the Screen's and menu's appear to be a little nicer. Is there a way to update the 660 with the new look? I figure it isn't possible but I thought I would ask.

There will be times when I will need to charge my unit in Europe outside of the car. Does this model have dual voltage or do I need a power converter? I was assuming it had the dual voltage since it came with pre-loaded European maps and a plug adaper but don't want to take a chance on blowing it.

does anyone know how to get rid of the splash screen on the c530 when you first boot it up ( the one that states you accept)

Newbie here...sorry I can't find an answer via searching....

I read spec sheets for Nuvi 200 and it says max # of custom POI's = 500. Is this assuming no SD card? Is this max POI count limitation eliminated when you add an SD card and leave it in the unit? I assume you can load the card with custom POI's using a PC with certain software app and then plug it in the Nuvi.

A general question. I have a new Zumo and when I look for "fuel" it only shows about 1/2 of the stations that exist locally. Stations that have been here for 5-15 years don't show up. Why is that?

Recently while moving my streetpilot c550 between cars, the tip of the charger exploded and pieces went flying. After searching my grass and driveway (for an hour ) I found 2 of the parts; the silver tip and the threaded black plastic part. I never did find the spring. I was, however, able to successfully use the spring from an ink pen after stretching it to size.

They exceed my expectations. I sent my C530 in to have the ball socket replaced/repaired. Paul said it could take up to ten working day, once they received the unit.

Last Wednesday (2/13) I sent it USPS priority and it was received on Friday. Monday the looked at it and decided to send an exchange unit. UPS delivered it today, 2/21.

Strangest thing happened to me last night. I went to my local Home Depot, and used the same Home Depot POI file that I always use. Normally, I get routed there with no problem. However, last night, the POI was off NE by a good quarter mile. I thought something was strange about the directions but assumed (yeah, I know) that my Nuvi was giving me a more efficient route to try.

I have created some files using .gpi format. It seems to limit my text to 250 characters when viewing on a Nuvi 350. Has any one used the .gpx format and if so does it generate more characters like what the Garmin Travel guide has? Also, will it overwrite the current.gpx file that is currently there?

About the only thing that made me apprehensive about buying the Garmin Nuvi 350, when I did, was whether or not the maps would be upgraded regularly. The specs for the unit indicated that it was upgradeable, so I bought it and have thoroughly enjoyed using it.

On the system info page, I can find the following:

Does anybody know beside the software version upgrade provided by Garmin, are any other versions upgradeable?

MOUNTGUYS have a nuvi 350 vent mount that also has the Nuvi cradle as a combo deal. It looks good. Has anyone used this device? It goes for $32.00.

Does the mount rock back and forth and change position with bumps in the road or is it a faily stable device.

how do you change the mph on the c550.im a truck driver and when i go into il.,oh.ect. the speed limit for trucks are 55mph but the c550 show 65. is there a way to change it thanks

My Garmin 760 worked perfectly fine the night before, This morning it would not turn on no matter what, not by the switch. or even plugging it into the charger just a blank screen, and the green charge light was on the charger. I left it in the charger thinking maybe accidently the battery drained and died, but still nothing.
I tried like 20 times, with no responce.

I created a csv file by hand, using some files I downloaded as a model.

Lat, Long, description

When I download those other files, the proximity alerts of 1391ft seem to happen automatically, but on my own file, I get nothing.

The points map correctly. Just no alerts.

How do I fix this?

I tried tacking onto the end of one of the other files, and it works.
