I recently bought a Garmin Nuvi 350 to compliment my GPSmap60CSx
used in walking and hiking. The reviews of the 350 looked good
and I liked the feature of being able to set up Custom POIs to
give alerts for things like scenic points, cameras and so on. I
made a test .csv file for a POI point nearby set up to respond
to approaching within a prescribed distance and downloaded it

I was driving in Miami and when I had to turn on State Road A1A my Nuvi 770 said "Turn right on SENIOR" A1A".

I'm pretty sure that I have heard Jill say "State road" many times. I think that it is down to the capitals: Normally the text shows stateroads as "SR8". In this case, the state road was indicated as "SrA1A". Anyone else heard Jill say "Senior" instead of "State Road"?

I just got a 2gb sd card since I have already used all the memory in the internal memory chip. My problem is that i cannot locate this new memory chip on my computer to download more poi's. I have the original poi file under the garmin file, but do not see where the new card is located. My garmin is a 650. thanks

I knolw this is a dumb question but I need clarification. Can I put all my custom POI's on an SD card and then put it in the NUVI and will the NUVI look at the card for POI's? In other words, can I search the SD card when the NUVI is running for the custom POI's?

My c550 has all roads that I go on as pink. If I was a girl a women or a women in a mans body I mite like pink roads but I am not. I am just a mam in a man body and I do not like pink. Is there any way I can change the road color. Any color I do not care just not pink.

Do you have to use the poi loader to upload from the computer to the nuvi or can you just copy files?

I just downloaded latest web updater for my c580

Added the Garmin Communicator plug-in just fine. No problem sending to my garmin 760, but what is involved getting my favorites to show up on the google map site??? Thanks

I just upgraded to a Nuvi 760 from a 650 and one big difference I have noticed is that the 760 will not display any of the internal POIs, only my custom POIs will display. I tried zooming in all the way while sitting in a shopping center parking lot and there was nothing displayed at all. My 650 sitting right next to it shows everything.

Anyone have a definite (or reasonably close) release date on when Mapquest will make possible their "Send to GPS" ability ? Seems google was out of the box first, but I think Mapquests database matched with Garmin will be fantastic.

I pre-ordered the Update from tvnav.com and surprisingly I got a shipping notice email with a tracking number. I called them thinking it was a error and I was told much to their surprise, when they opened todays freight there were the 2009 Updates and mine was on the way.

I need to know if I can download POI's to the SD card I purchased and where do they show up.Some people say you can while others say no way. Also interested in putting icons like Macdonald's, Sonic, etc. where they will show up on my map.I am new with this GPS.

Has anyone tried one fo those plugs, that you can plug in your car charger plug and then into an AC outlet?
How good are they? They seem very cheap on Amazon (around $5.00). Will it still take 5 hours to charge? Are there better ones to buy, if so where?

I just had to share this info with the group. Allot of you guy’s may already know this. I was reading in the form that some of the Garmin users were deleting the excess files off there Garmin to save space on the hard drive. I just finished doing that. I got rid of all the voices except English (300 mb) and all of my vehicles except the Tank and the blue car.

Do I place alert sounds in the same folders as the POI's or do they have to be placed on a SD?

What's the latest nuvi 200 firmware version? Garmin tech support says 3.7, but I'm running 3.6 and webupdater says there aren't any updates.

I Heard through the grape vine Garmin is going to discontine the Nuvi 5000 because you dont have the option to change vehicle types like car truck motorcycle ETC The truckers thought this was going to be a good gps for them but if you drive a big rig this is not the gps to get even though garmin made the screen larger and the font bigger to see more easily

Well I took a vacation to Atlantic City and stayed at a hotel on the boardwalk. Of cause like all hotels on the boardwalk you drive your car up to the hotel check in and park your car in the parking garage. Anyway, the direction from my c530 were perfect right up until the point were it wanted me to make a right turn on the boardwalk. Of cause the boardwalk is not a road,lol.
