.

You can download waypoints to the 650. You will be limited to the number of waypoints that the unit can hold. 500

If you are a Premium Member at Geocaching.com, you can get Pocket Queries in GPX format and you can load them as Custom POIs. The number of Custom POIs you can load is virtually unlimited.

Thanks MM

grin We can always depend on you.

You can

But it's not as good and not as easy as using your hand held unit in my opinion.

If you find that it works well let me know your fix.

Direct dump via MyGarmin

If you have a MyGarmin account, you can search the Geocaching.com site, while at Garmin and fire the points directly into your 650 (provided you have Garmin Communicator Plugin installed in your browser)

way points

This would be a nice thing to have in our little toys.

This is weird!

After downloading 15 waypoints to my Nuvi 650, I checked my Favorites, only 8 came through. And since this was just to experiment, I deleted them. Played around with geocaching waypoints for a while, then deleted what arrived in my Favorites. Yesterday, days after downloading and deleting, I just happened to go back into my favotites and it was loaded with geocaching waypoints!! So if anyone is interested in using the Nuvi650 for Geocaching, load your caches, wait a while, they will load up! Have fun with it! The geocaches have a icon on the map, pretty neat! grin

Should have warned you

I had the same "twitchiness" using my Nuvi 360. I loaded a whack load of Caches and only had a small portion load up.

I reported the problem to Garmin Support.

I then reattached the Nuvi to my Mac and saw that I had a variety of GPX files in the GPX folder where Current resides (ie your favourites). The GPXs are a full dump of the Geocache file (Comments, Find Logs, etc.) A start up later, the remaining points got sucked up in a much abbreviated form.

Garmin's response was that they tried it on a 350 and 360 with the same results. Their suggested solution: Go to Geocache direct.

Not the best answer IMHO. I'd love the direct download route to include the Difficulty and Terrain info.

Cheers
