If I purchase a SD Card can I install POI's on it. Will they show up on my screen or do I have to load the ones that I want to show up?

How many Custom POI's can I install on the actual Nuvi 250 system?

my new map is on its way for my c-340 . just was wondering if there is anything i should need to know when updating the map ,or does the install go pretty smooth. thanks glenn

Hi,This weekend I am going on vacation and will be taking my GPS with me. I just want to know from anyone who takes their GPS with them on airlines if there is anything I should know. I am assuming I can take the suction mount and cigarette lighter cable with me as well as the GPS in my carry on bag. I just want to be sure so I don't get hassled at check in security.

As a new user of GPS, I am surprised when the currency converter does not work. The rate update is correct, but the conversion page seem to have nothing to do with it. It turns out the currency converter is a known and common issue. Not really a big deal for me, but asked the tech support anyway. I was directed to revert to firmware 5.3 and then do a master reboot. It did not fix the problem.

I have a Nuvi660 and there's a new firmware available for it and it says it fixes a problem with retail maps. Does anyone have any further info into what exactly this fixes? I'm a little concerned that it might effect my custom topo maps that I am using.

Just just went into MyGarmin and I have a free 2009 update now available for my Nuvi660. Its almost 2GB and I'm downloading it now. Being a old Magellan fan, I gotta say I love Garmin's support.

I have CN 7, CN 8 and City Navigator 2008 all on my Garmin StreetPilot 2730. Is there a way to permanently disable CN 7 and CN 8?

Right now when the 2730 is on I can disable those maps, but when I re-boot the maps are back. I only want to use City Navigator 2008

I was in New Orleans on Tuesday and rented a car from a different company than I normally do. Since I had a 6:30am flight the next day, I used my C340 and saved the rental company as a favorite. Then I headed off on my mini-trip.

Just downloaded and installed the 2.9 update, Didn't take long, after it downloads and installs power off and then power up the Nuvi and just wait for it to complete the new install and start back up. similar to windows update, needs a "reboot"

so far so good. Garmin site has the new features and/or fixes listed jusst prior to download

i put a igig sd card in my garmin 330 thinking i could then download more poi files but so far its not working. can this be done? thanks

Hi, this is my first post. I have a new nuvi 650, downloaded the 2009 map update, after running the rmu_cnnant2009.exe file, I get to the point of putting in the KEY, then it tells me the unit does not have enough memeory to load the 2009 map. What am I doing wrong?

has anyone loaded this , and how clean is it!

Garmin has released 4.40 for Nuvi 600 series ... something to do with map updates.

I had a POI for "My House" set for my driveway. Used it half a zillion times and it was always dead on. Did the 2009 update and my house (according to my GPS) moved around the corner onto another street. Also, had another POI "move" about 500 yards. Any one had this happen? Weird to say the least.

Only thing I can even guess is the BASE MAP has changed.

Garmin apparently has been busy. Upgrade from Version 3.6 to 4.1 is 5.68 MB to "correct issue with retail map update compatability." Whatever ... always worth upgrading firmware because often there are little tweaks in other code they don't mention.

Hey guys

When i transfer POI from mapsource to Nuvi 250, the icon for the waypoint does not get transfered with the POI. The POI is where it is suppose to be but the icon is just the grey dot. I've treid looking for the icon in the GPS somewhere but I just find the default icons.
Is this just not possible?
