c 340 update (any tips for installing new maps?)

my new map is on its way for my c-340 . just was wondering if there is anything i should need to know when updating the map ,or does the install go pretty smooth. thanks glenn
Smooth install on C340
My brother just installed the new update on his C340. He just connected his C340 to the USB port on his computer, installed the new update DVD software, entered his product key when prompted and the software automatically overwrote his old maps to the newer version. Everything went smoothly.
C340 Installation....
All went well for me with installation. No problems whatsoever for the C340 map update.
On your mark, Get set.....wait a minute......D-A-N-I-E-L..........now we can GO.... (Garmin c340)
No problems
Loaded my Saturday and it was a breeze.Took about 1 1/2 hours.It will update mapsource if you have it installed on your computer.I purchase map update at Best Buy.

Update C340
I purchased the 2008 maps for mine. Everything went very well. The only thing I noticed is that my waypoints had been wiped out. Since I save them in mapsource, it was no big deall to upload them again. I don't remember seeing any warnings about it though, which could have been me trying to do three things at once.

I just got my Fed X delivery of the disc update for my C340 and was hoping people were having a pretty smooth time of it---sounds as if the download version is more problematic (though there are a lot more things that can go wrong there).
EDIT: I updated the firmware, and a couple of voices, which took about an hour. I then tried the DVD and it errored out when trying to do setup. I tried again and it still errored out. So while it was errored out, I rebooted the C340 and tried again. Worked like a charm, and all my favorites stayed in place as did my custom POIs. Yee-hah!~
