Garmin talk

I've been looking at the Garmin Driveluxe series for some time now. Not willing to pay the $349 price, I've been waiting for refurbs to hit the market. It appears I waited too long since refurbs are non existent and even new units are very hard to find.

I bought this vent mount for a Garmin 2689 (see https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SV2LZW6/ref=oh_aui_deta...). It woulds very well. Reviews at Amazon say it is hard to clip onto the vent but once you get the hang of it it isn't an issue.

Some of us have hook ups for vehicles that take 7XX and 8XX Nuvi's. Be nice to see a new Model come out that would fit my Frontiers tray

I have a new Zumo 595. I've uploaded the cameras POI file that worked perfect in my old 665 but it does not seem to show cameras or play the custom sound.

Anyone have a though about this? Of course Garmin isn't much help.

I have a problem loading my lists of custom poi I downloaded from here like rest areas, gas stations.

I open poi-loader. I insert .sox (wav) in the root file. When I connect my gps asks for the device. I press on the message to remove all poi at the end this message appear, There was an unexpected error during the removal of custom POI file.

Question. I’ve had Garmin Link on iPhone for a while, though I thought I attempted using it with a GPS. I think, or I wouldn’t have kept it on phone.
Today I attempted on using it with a 660.
Never read any instructions, don’t have any available. Turned on Bluetooth on 660, and then told Garmin Link to send to GPS.

Through an odd set of circumstances, I now have a spare 3597. Here is what happened:

Is there any way to limit the distance that the SmartPhone App will send weather warnings to the GPS? Right now it sends warnings from over 100 miles away and not even in the direction I'm traveling or my destination.

I have looked in the App and on my Garmin (RV760) and can't find anything to change or set.

Does anybody here have any thought on whether we will ever see a replacement for the Garmin Monterra? I have always wanted one, but I also always thought that they were overpriced. With Garmin no longer supporting newer versions of Android for it, it seems destined to die, much like their Garminfone and Garmin Nuvifone did.

After almost ten years it's time for me to retire my Garmin Nuvi 1450. What's a good replacement for it? My needs are simple: all I need is a newer model that does the same thing a 1450 does. I don't need anything fancy-schmancy; for example, I don't need bluetooth or wifi.

I have downloaded and installed into Basecamp, OSM topo maps for several regions in the United States.

The Install Map command in Basecamp, will allow me to install only one of these maps to the SD Card at a time. When I repeat this operation with another map, the previous map is deleted from the card.
Is there a way to install all the maps to a SD Card using Basecamp?

Somebody has to start as to when 2019.3 will be released!

I added the N Carolina, S Caroline, NJ, Vt, Maine state police and highway patrol files and then proceeded to update my poi files favorites but it errored out every time. Same result with another gpsr and another computer. On one computer, after i deleted the Maine state police file, the update of my poi files worked ok, but not on the other computer.

Given many of the new garmins support wifi for map updating, is there some way of access the internal storage via wifi?

My oldest sister just turned 70. We live pretty far apart. She is in AZ and I am in MN. She asked me to update her maps on her Garmin Nüvi 55, which I have done. I will return this to her tomorrow.

any body know how to install new map in garmin drive 51 I bought from usa and it has only usa map I try to installed unlocked map but it shows wrong map .any body help me please.

One of these days my old Nuvi 650 will die. In anticipation of this, I periodically review the Garmin website to review available GPS models.

One feature that I do want, is a Bluetooth enabled GPS that will "speak" through the radio of the car. The product specs simply speak of making a Bluetooth connection through a smartphone. We do not have a smartphone.

A message started popping up on my 2699Lmt that the cable was not right for traffic, does the traffic antennae’s in the cable go bad? Never had this happen before Thanjs for your feedback

In order to more easily obtain a reliable source for the large JCV file, I'm thinking about buying an older Nuvi and buying a Garmin lifetime map update subscription.

My question deals with which of the older Garmin Nuvis natively downloads the large JCV file, currently D3060270A.jcv for 2019.20, as part of the update?

Can some folks report back if your units have the orientation option in display settings or not.

Garmin support indicates the device supports portrait mode, however the actual unit I have in hand (with current firmware) does not.
