Garmins Nuvis That Natively Download The Large JCV File

In order to more easily obtain a reliable source for the large JCV file, I'm thinking about buying an older Nuvi and buying a Garmin lifetime map update subscription.

My question deals with which of the older Garmin Nuvis natively downloads the large JCV file, currently D3060270A.jcv for 2019.20, as part of the update?

I'm currently looking on eBay at a Garmin 755T. The owner says the current map version is 2011.10 and the JVC file is D2339010A.JCV. A Google search for D2339010A.JCV turns up very little so I don't know whether this was a 2011 version of the large JCV file or not. Does anyone know which older Nuvis
natively download the large JCV file when updating, and in particular would the Garmin 755T be included?

I would greatly appreciate any information. Thanks

Yes, 755T gets large JCV at this time.

AFAIK, the nuvi 7x5 series and zumo 6xx series are the only devices that still get the "large" JCV file with a map update. The 8x5 series and 1390/14xx display full screen junction views, but Garmin only gives them the small/partial coverage file with a map update. Shame on Garmin. There is no technical excuse for this.

It would not surprise me if Garmin eventually will completely stop distribution of the full screen/full coverage (large) version of the JCV file for any devices. I expect the expensive zumo models are what keeps them from doing it, as those customers paid a lot of money for their zumo.

Great information. You Da Man!

I wouldn’t bother

I have a 1390T and am in the same situation. But the guys here have been awesome in posting the large JCV for us so far. But will upgrade to be newest Garmin or use my Samsung S8 when the file is no longer available. I wouldn’t even bother buying an older unit and a lifetime map subscription just to get the large JCV yourself. Waste of money IMO. My 1390T is basically obsolete but still works but the processor in it is so slow compared to my wife’s 2495 LMT.

Good advice.

jackrabbit000 gives good advice. By the time you buy a used 755T and buy a lifetime map subscription, you could have added a few more dollars and have a much newer refurbished model. I realize lots of people don't like the split screen junction views on the newer devices. I used to be in that camp, but now that I have my 3597, I am used to them and definitely would not go back to an old device just to get full screen JCV's.

3597 better split screen

I've run first a 3790 and then a 3597. The split-screen treatment differs between the two, with the 3597 version being much better to my taste. I never look back wishing I had full-screen junction view returned.

I've Got Both . . .

. . . a 755t and a 3597 and I don't copy the 755t's large JCV file over to the 3597 when I do map updates. Never really missed it on the 3597, either.

756T

The 765T also gets the large file with each map update.
