Garmin Smartphone App weather warning

Is there any way to limit the distance that the SmartPhone App will send weather warnings to the GPS? Right now it sends warnings from over 100 miles away and not even in the direction I'm traveling or my destination.

I have looked in the App and on my Garmin (RV760) and can't find anything to change or set.

I am using a local tv

I am using a local tv station app and it only sends warnings in my local area - their viewing audience.
There appears to be another app running that I have not come to terms with yet connected to the NWS. I have only heard warnings from that in the local area also. I guess I should figure that one out also.
What app are you using?

I had never seen that type of behavior before until a few days ago when a "gale warning" appeared on the top of the map screen. It alternated between a grey cloud/sun icon in the top right corner and a grey banner across the top of the screen which read Gale Warning.

Now we do live within a few miles of the ocean but there certainly hasn't been any gale force winds anywhere near us but that warning continues to display on the DriveLuxe 50 map screen. The annoying things with this are:

- cant't find a way to turn it off
- tapping the icon brings up a map screen with a very high zoom level covering hundreds of miles and no indication of where on that screen there is a gale blowing
- alternating between the icon and the banner is distracting while driving

All in all I like the Smartphone Link app but this type of information, presented in the way it is, is pretty much useless IMHO.

Agree.

"- alternating between the icon and the banner is distracting while driving",
not on the 3597.

The type of warning shows only once for a few seconds when the alert/warning is activated. I have not yet found a way to re-display them.
