First longer trip with my C580. Had it set on the 3 mile scale to show the names of cities and noticed that the scale automatically changed to 800' when on a highway ramp. What actually trigged the change? The lower speed or the location of a ramp? Just curious.

I was reading a thread on another forum about someone with a 760 nuvi having free traffic subscription show up with a expiration date of 2020. This was without signing up for anything after they updated to the 5.20 traffic update on a 760.

I checked my 760 but still shows traffic expired after the update. Has anyone else found this 2020 date on their unit after updating to 5.20?

On my 880 the Music Player has a window frame in the upper right corner for Album Art to be displayed. But nothing shows when a song is playing even though there is Album Art in the folders where the songs reside.

When I run the songs through Windows Media player it will automatically go out and bring back Album Art and place the icons in the songs folder.

I got my nuvi 205w a little over a week ago and so far I've found several locations/POIs that are just plain wrong. Almost on the "wrong side of the planet", it seems.

What can be done to correct these incorrect locations.

Examples include Target, Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot....not even close to where they actually are.

Does the Garmin option between the internal flash memory AND the SD card storage for it's file usage during navigation? Making the internal mamory as lean as possible, imo, should give it a measurable and noticeable performance is the unit does offer this option.

After using my semi-new Nuvi 350 for a while, I discovered I could really use a sun shield to help keep glare off the screen. I did a forum search, but the results are about a year old. I've been looking at this item below, but I'm not sure. What do you all recommend?

I DL'd these files to the 660, and went on a trip through red light stop signals. I got no response from the GPS. Is the file "skinny" as far as all the red light cameras in North Dallas. tia

I just discovered this site where you can download a number of different voices from your written text. the downloads come as wav files, but they can quickly be converted into mp3 files with a simple converter program. ( I used Switch on the Mac ). Anyway, It's a quick and dirty way to add speech to your poi files. (for the new users) Remember to change the name to match that of your poi.

Ok I purchased a c580 last week and I connected it with MSN direct I get full service. After I updated my maps from 2008 to 2009 my MSN direct service shows red bar only. Garmin told me it was a wire problem I wasnt convinced. So my dad bought the same exact model a day after me and I tested his. SAME EXACT PROBLEM. It happens after the update from 2008 to 2009. Any solution to this?

does anybody know the link for the latest firmware for the 250w. i want to download it for a friend and cant seen to find the link anywhere.

In defragging the Nuvi drive I got the message the map file (2008) was damaged. I no longer get the streets on the display. I have had the unit since 12/2007.
What options are open to me? As a last resort can I simply buy and install the 2009 version?
any suggestions would be appreciated.

Why am I not able to get turn by turn directions on a course that I add from mapmyride? I have tried using the .tcx and .crs formats. However, when I try to get the turn by turns I get the compass screen with distance to course. Help.

Garmin® Expands Affordable nüvi® 2x5 Series, Offering Hands-Free Calling and Lifetime Traffic Alerts

I was close to paying the price for the red light files, but for some reason, I don't understand the need for this expense. I personally watch red lights easily for the "eye in the sky" mounted to take my picture. What's the big deal requiring money on these files? Seems like a gouge IMO. sv

Can someone please explain Mapsourse to me? What is it exactly? I looked on the Garmin site, it states that the program will not work unless you have a mapsource devise. Is the nuvi a mapsource devise?

On my nuvi 350, the tty file for Jill has become garbled. Garmin technical told me to use Webupdater but no file for Jill is there. Does anyone knew the "location" of the garmin files so I can download it? Or any suggestions as to how to get a replacement would be appreciated greatly.

If I bought a Garmin with current maps on it, is there a way I could transfer them maps to an older unit?

I would like to use my Streetpilot c550 inside to finish listening to a book I have loaded on the SDHC. I would like to listen from my easy chair so need some way to power the unit. I have an adapter that plugs into the house circuit (110V) and accepts the cigarette plug connected to the unit.

The specs of the adapter indicate:

Input: 100V-240V 200mA 47-63Hz
