inaccurtate distance

My Nuvi 880 seems inaccurate by 100 ft.
When I'm stopped at a road it still show 50-100 ft to go. When I go home it still shows I got 100ft to go. Is this normal?
I have a 350 and it does not have this problem.
Thanks for any info.

my guess, it could be the

my guess, it could be the accuracy of the signals, and maybe where it considers the intersection, start of, middle of?

to where?

your "Home" was probably set in your driveway/garage, and not at the entrance to your driveway. Are you considering yourself home at the driveway? Or where it was set to recognize?

sorry i didnt see the home

sorry i didnt see the home part, for intercections i know some are wider than others, like 1 lane, or 8 lane. as for home, maybe the acuracy of when u set it as opposed to the accuracy the next time your home.

But i do know your point its wierd when you are right at the intercection and it says 100 feet to go.

It is probably a number of

It is probably a number of factors. Maps are not an infinite number of points, some sections of roads are straight lines between points. The reference point may be the center of the cross street and you probably stop back a bit from the intersection.

It also depends on satellite fix. On my 750 I have seen indicated accuracy from 11 ft to over 100 ft to not getting a fix for blocks when driving off before it got a fix (hold signal strength bar until satellites come up to see accuracy guess).

Combined errors can sometimes lead it to tell you a waypoint is left when it is right or vice versa.

At least it is much more accurate than before May 2000 when SA was enabled. SA was intentional drift of +/- 50 meters, to throw off the accuracy of enemy missles, etc. So a waypoint you set yourself could have been off by a football field or more (100+ meters) the next time you used it.

inaccurate mph too

We were stopped getting gas and the nuvi 660 was varying between .5 and 1.5 mph, it was pretty bizarre.

well my guess thats just in

well my guess thats just in response of the accuracy changing from 14 feet to 25 feet or what ever, which is normal, that accuracy would place you in different locations, hense it thinks your moving from place to place

my nuvi 650 does this sometimes but it tends to be in bigger intersections where I guess its harder to determine where one should actually turn at
