Custom Waypoints for Mapsource

I have downloaded bitmap symbols (icons) for my Nuvi 200w, into my c:\'Custom Waypoint Symbols' folder.
From there I am suppose to be able to see them in Mapsource 'custom' symbols. I have the display set to 'symbol and name'.
Can anyone tell me why the new symbols are not showing?

You need to use Garmin's xImage software and follow specific steps to get Custom Waypoint icons in MapSource. Be advised that they will not transfer to the nuvi.

Rename Symbols
You have to move the symbols into a subdirectory that Mapsource sets up. It is located at 'My Documents\My Garmin\Custom Waypoint Symbols'.
You'll then have to rename them from 000.bmp to 63.bmp. They will then show up in the bottom of the symbols dropdown menu. You'll have to reassign the symbols to the corresponding waypoint.

Custom waypoint symbols
I have downloaded the iImage from Garmin and ran the application file but although it recognised my unit, it asked me to change the interface to either Garmin or Host.
What is this and what must I do now?

I didn't need iImage after all.
I just took the whole folder and sub folder out of c:\ and placed it into MY DOCUMENTS
Just as you said above.
Great stuff. All icons present.
