Before I splurge of the 2009 Map Update, is there a way to check and see if the areas I frequent the most are even updated?

When updating my POI files this afternoon, I ran POI Loader, as usual. After about 2 minutes, it simply crashed. No error code generated..just crashed. I tried again. Same thing. I rebooted my computer and ran it again..same thing. I decided to start eliminating POI files one at a time to see if that would make a difference. The first one I eliminated was the Zipcode file.

I have had the Garmin 330 for about a year and have enjoyed it very much... Has helped several times. It is now discontinued and the 2009 map update is USD 70 as was last year's update. Have found a Magellen 4000 refurbished for USD 90. Anybody have any thoughts? Just stick to what I have and be happy or spend a few for a newer, maybe more modern and better device...

Is there a way to set an alert distance in a CSV file instead of having to do each file when using the POI Loader?

Is it posible to temporarily disable custom POI's without removing them? For example, if I have a POI file of hotels, but during this trip I don't need to be alerted to them, can I turn off the alert but be able to turn them back on for a trip maybe later in the day?

How likely is your phone to work with Bluetooth on a Garmin unit if it's not on the compatibility list at their site?

I didn't get a Bluetooth Garmin because my phone wasn't on the list. I'm in a rural area and we don't have a major cell provider here.

I recently installed the Offbeat Tourist Attractions database in my Garmin. I put the database file, .mp3 file, and icon in a folder and loaded it via the POI Loader.

The database seems to be in there in my Custom POI folder, but there is no option in settings for proximity alerts.

Am I doing something wrong?

I have a nuvi 200w.

I recently went on a rather long road trip. I have seen online where you can export your trip information and view it with programs like Google Earth or Garmin Road Trip.

I can figure out how to export my 'favorites' within Garmin's Road Trip, but can figure out the 'tracks?'

For some reason my volume on SOME of my poi are not loud anymore. I did use the program Audacity to get the volume up before but now it's not working. any advice?

I have the Garmin 755T as well as an Escort 9500. Can the database file (from the radar) .lcd be converted somehow to use in my GPS?

I found the Bluetooth Firmware update screen on my nuvi 750, when I pressed update, a screen popped up and asked if I was sure I wanted to update. What would happen if I pressed yes, update? Could I damage the unit?

Is there a way to keep in sync multiple POI's? I.E. How do I keep in sync all POI's & have it sync'd with all future updates? Is there a way to download multiple POI's files, say 25 of them?

I'm looking to get a 2nd Garmin added to our family. Right now we only have a c340 and I'm torn between which to get of the following: Nuvi 265wt, 760, and 770. The price of the 770 is the cheapest of the three on amazon.com and I am mainly going to use this 2nd GPS on my job as a utility repairman as well as family trips.

Is there any way I can avoid resetting all of the settings every time I re-load POIs on my Nivi using POI loader?

Has any else ever had this problem. Sometimes after about 2 hours, the unit will just lock up or freeze. No touch screen commands work. The only way to get it back is to power off and then back on. Seems it happens when I am in an area where the roads are new and not in the database

Presently I have Garmin GPS on my phone and it works well. I would like to get a stand alone GPS for our other cars and was hoping that some users could make a suggestion on some models. It would be good to have a model that is not too expensive, but provides the needed features. Thank you in advance for your input.
