Is it possible to adjust the volume of the alert on a 3597?

Hey all!

I just picked up a Drivesmart 55. I have been using a Nuvi 3597 LMT for several years now. I made the purchase thinking something 5 years newer would be 'better'.

To be honest, the Drivesmart 55 feels cheap compared to the 3597.

Has anyone gone from a 3597 to a Drivesmart 55? What are your experiences / preferences?

I may end up returning my 55. We'll see.

I have the option of selecting a 'new' Garmin from my Credit Card's Rewards program.

Just purchased a old Garmin nuvi 50 and I tried to load some custom points, but Poi Loader can not find the device.

Can you load Custom POI's or Routes from Basecamp into this GPS?

I bought a drivesmart 65. All my gps's always have custom poi's...hmm. So under the POI directory they house a CustomPOI.gpi
file and thats all thats in there, guess what! this one has 3 additional ones
D7378050A.gma, D7378050A.gpi and D7378050A.unl. These were created or updated when i updated to the newest map version 6 days ago.

Driving in LA, my 61 does not know when I am in an HOV (carpool)or HOT (toll) lane

as a result, you don't get help for exiting from the lanes when you have an exit ahead.

You also encounter +Recauculating+ when the freeway connects to other freeways via Carpool lanes but the GPS wants you to go tot the far right lane...

Is there a way to fix this in settings?

I bought City Navigator (North America 49 States) from Garmin to use on my frequent trips to Tennessee and Florida. I use them on my Garmin Drivesmart 65 with Alexa, which in itself, was not a cheap buy.
I asked Garmin about updates to this map and the frequency and was told they don't update these maps, you are expected to buy a new one. I asked if they were joking to which no one replied.

in my earlier post i wrote to as why my dezl cam keeps dimmimg out on me. I guess it has to do with my charger. It got mixed up with other chargers while a few gps were updated. i ended up with the incorrect car charger thereofoe it causes me problems. can anyone tell me the serial number or model number off the correct car charger or are they all different? please and thank you.

It fixes the auto day/night mode that started screwing up this last daylight savings time change date.
Now it switches automatically at dusk like it used to.
The update may also apply to other 3*** models.

I have a 3580LMT and 2598LMT. It only does it with my 3580.

I have been attempting to update my "new" Drive 6 all afternoon. (Uggh!)

I FINALLY got mt Garmin Express to find my GPS and it said must download new software FIRST.

I did so, and after a few minutes, it instructed me to unplug my GPS for 5 second, and then plug it back in to allow the unit to install the new software.

I have trouble seeing red or green lights like is on the Garmin car chargers/power supply. Honestly we have more charging cords than GPS units so often times they're not matched the way they came out of the box. My wife gets upset when she sees a red light on the charger and a green one one the other.

I have 2 Drivesmart 61's and to transer from Mapsource I would go to MTP settings and select Mass Storage. In this I would be able to transferr anything in my Mapsource program that I've used for many years on all kinds of Garmin Nuvi's.
