Garmin talk

A friend of mine can get lost walking across the street, let alone walking six blocks. Can someone recommend a Garmin handheld that will allow here to mark her parked location and the navigate her way back to her car by foot?

Tested the Blue tooth capabilities of the Garmin 1390T today.

I've been complaining to Garmin since I bought my Garmin Nuvi 1390T that it does not show Texas 45 /130 that runs from Round Rock Texas to below Austin Texas. They are finally going to fix this HOWEVER they want me to pay to get the update that should have already been on the device, Kind of like a hand shake, followed by a Kick in the Pants.

Changes from version 2.60 to version 2.80:
Fix issue with lifetime subscriptions expiring.

Has anyone tried this? Does it cause the traffic color icon problem?

I've a Nuvi 285WT. I've a SD card with some pictures (additional splash screen) on it. Recently, when viewing pictures, the Nuvi does something strange.

Last night I was updating my Garmin Streetpilot i3 via my USB but my 4 year old son decided to unplug it during the software update and now it doe snot switch on?

Any ideas please omn how to switch it on so that I can do something with it - many thanks all.

So I'm driving home, GPSr on the dash testing out the traffic feature when, while at a stop light, the display starts spinning as though I'm turning around back and forth ... Then it loses satellites... No, I didn't get the message referring to updates...

Then...

... it can't find them at all ...

WTF?!

4GB seems like it's likely to work.
8GB I've heard nothing about; I'm hoping it'll fly.

Garmin support seems to be scatter-brained about this.

This is the first dedicated GPS that I have owned. Had one that mated with my Laptop Computer.

Within MapSource version 6.15.11, is there a way to change the font size display for the way points on the map? (viewing from MapSource not from Nuvi GPS)

I have so many way points on a map and and the label of those way points cover up the map display, just want to see if there is a way to make those label to display small as possible.

I had a strange one happen Saturday with the 855. We went out to do five cemetery caches and twice while I was still in the cemetery I had it route me to the next cemetery. It gave me the standard message to drive to the highlighted route, and here is where the strange part is.

At lower right corner is an Icon for Traffic...Went back and forth on expressways today in Chicagoland, and today the traffic logo was Grey...

Last week, after re-entering the Traffic Activation codes, I thought this was yellow....

I can't seem to find any information as to what the grey color means....

I updated my 760 to 4.90 a little while ago and I'm noticing some strange behavior with Red Light Camera warnings.

When the intersection is one where I have a turn, I get the bong bong ONCE, but no display on the screen. If I stop and start again, I get the bong bong again, but still no display. After I make the turn, the gray bar with the RLC notice appears very briefly.

hey guys, i have a nuvi 765t and a verizon vx8300 (I know its supposedly ancient). for some reason i cannot view my list of contacts on my 765t. i used to be able to on the 660 and i was sure to be able to do so on my first 765t (before it blanked out n had to get a new one).

i have a Garmin 265t and i can't remember how to up load files.

Note: I am very new at installing POI's.

Just this week I downloaded several POI's. Most worked well, but I have a problem with a few of them.

1. Loaded the California Kaiser medical facilities. However, none of my local facilites show up when I look for them in the Custom POI's.

I just tried the latest Mapsource beta. Don't use it.

The crashed my Mapsource, which I had to remove from my computer. I am still trying to get Garmin to recognize my use of Mapsource Versions 8 and 9, and they will not load.

This happens occasionally. After entering a destination (Nuvi 780) and if I stop along the way I have to reenter the destination. It seems to happen when I stop shortly after entering the destination. Any suggestions?
