modifying NUVI screens

Older Garmin GPS units have adjustable fields on different screens to display info, such as course, speed, eta, time of day, etc. NUVIs don't seem to have a way to change any of the fields on any of the screens. Has anyone heard of a way to do this, or to create completely custom screens with particular fields displayed? What about copying screens from different devices, for example the speed display of a Zumo to a NUVI?

Some of the newer Nuvis

Some of the newer Nuvis allow "some" customization of the data fields, but most do not. You're pretty much stuck with what it comes with display-wise. I've never heard of being able to copy a screen from a completely separate Nuvi to another one.

new screen data

I agree, I'd like my Nuvi 750 to show my speed while navigating. It will show my speed in map mode but not in navigation mode. It would also be nice if it would show the time in either/both modes.

Even if you could copy a screen from an earlier Garmin, where would you get the data to fill it? The display might be 'hard-wired' into the OS but it has to get the displayed data from the computer. Without the data, you'd just have a picture.

Agree

I have a 755t and it shows speed and I wish my 750 had the same.
