765T Traffic Delay Calculation

Has anyone else noticed that the ETA shown on the 765T doesn't change when the unit recieves an updated traffic report? I was driving today, and the planned traffic delay went from 2 minutes to 15 minutes, but the ETA didn't change. This really makes me wonder if the unit is actually finding the fastest route, or just telling you how much delay to expect if you stay on the current path.

Do I have something disabled, or is anyone else seeing this? My software is up to date as of March 14h, 2010.

It won't update unless you select Avoid

If you select avoid, it will recalculate the route and adjust the ETA. But I have noticed the same thing, that it does not add the two together if you just stay on the original route.

it may not "add the two together"...

...but if you stay on that route, and the traffic does indeed cause a delay, your ETA will change

at least it does on my 765T

I've seen it adjust after the fact....

Yes, I've seen it adjust the time if you are stopped at a light or in the middle of a traffic jam, but doesn't add the time before the traffic jam. I guess they figured they would be double counting time if they did that, but it just makes the system look like it's not actually accounting for the delay.

It really wasn't after the fact. The time won't change until your actually n the jam. Before hand your still on schedule, the traffic receiver was giving you a heads up of whats to come if you remain on the driven route.
If you make no course correction and end up in traffic it will indeed change your ETA.
