I have a 1490LMT that I am trying to grow accustom to and notice that when I use "Where to/Points of Interest/Spell" and make an entry the device only shows locations within 50 or 60 miles (may vary). Is there some option I can enter to use a broader search area?

I am aware of the NEAR options, and want it to be My Current Location, but want the NEAR distance to be broadened.

According to the literature, the c530 (StreetPilot) should be able to do this, but I am having no luck. I am trying to use it with the Rest Room POI's.

I picked up a new 40LM and i need to transfer the custom poi's from my nuvi 200. I used mapsource and got my favorites but it didn't show my custom poi's ? Is there a way to get these ?

My new Nuvi 50 has routes to Garmin USA, Garmin Europe and Garmin Asia included from the factory. How do I delete these without deleting other favorites I have installed?

Nuvi 50. Need to set deer lease as a POI. Since lease is in the middle of the country here in NW Texas, how do I establish a destination point without an address to enter?

I normally leave the Garmin AC adapter/traffic receiver in my vehicle. Now its winter here in the North East. Any thoughts on how cold weather will affect the traffic receiver component of the adapter?

Was anyone successful in downloading echoRoute from the Garmin site? I get an error message, contacted Garmin but they gave me info on updating map. They are not helpful.

In trying to gain space I used the suggestion of removing files I don't need from /help, etc. That all seemed to go well, but even though I deleted lots of files and should have gained plenty of space I don't appear to have anymore space than when I began loading POIs.

I have been trying to add POIs to my 1490 but didn't have enough space for all of them. Therefore I tried to use the SD card and haven't been able to get anywhere with that idea. I can use the POI loader program and get the POIs on the Sd but the garmin does not recognize the SD card files. Am I missing something?

I have a frustrating problem. On a few occasions (like this Thanksgiving) I had to travel to see the family and wanted to take a particular route that Nuvi could not find (1&9 to i295 for those who want to avoid the turnpike).

Making a route on Mapquest is almost simple anymore. Is there a way I can send the route to my new 3790 when I get it Monday? BaseCamp is a giant pain to use and Mapquest so simple and RoadTrip is worse than BaseCamp. If not Mapquest, can Google maps work? Haven't checked it yet. Advice? I'm on a Mac.

I am not able to transfer Routes from Map Source or Base Camp to my nuvi 2460LMT. I have the latest Maps and SW.

Indications are that the transfer occurs but they do not show up in Trip Planner. The hour glass appears and keeps flipping over on screen.

Other than this problem the unit works OK.

Is there a way to see a list of POI's that have been downloaded onto Garmin 1450LMT? I want to download onto my computer the POI files I have over time loaded onto my Garmin. I know how and what program to load POI files, but do not know how to list the files back onto my computer.

I just upgraded from my Nuvi 760 which was showing its age. I will enjoy the lifetime maps and other new features. I downloaded the 2012.30 maps before using and I was surprised to see that it is displaying the upcoming cross streets in the top bar like my 760 did in the non-navigation mode. I thought Garmin removed this feature? Maybe its the 2012.30 maps.

I have a Garmin Nuvi 260W and never really played with it on the computer before. I just installed 2 custom POI files, I notice if I go to extras, there is now an option for Custom POIs, but it just lists all of the Custom POIs in one list, is there a way to separate them? I.E. Rest Areas, WIFi Hotspots etc... Also searching for them by name doesn't seem to work either. Any ideas? Thanks

Just received my 2460LMT from Amazon.
I have a question I can't seem to find the answer to in the owners manual.

Does the 2460 have a sleep mode where it is actually using battery power but not displaying? If it does I want to shut down the unit completely so not to drain the battery.
In the manual it states under "Turning The Device Off"
1- Hold the POWER Key for four seconds.

My last Garmin that I got a couple of years ago was stolen. We just got the Garmin nuvi50 to replace it since we got the deal on Walmart for the free lifetime maps. It didn't come with a user manual though, and I can't seem to find an option to put a password lock on it. Is this not available with this newer model? Or am I just not finding it?

I am going to install the large JCV file onto my micro sd card in my Garmin 1450LMT...Is this the correct directory structure?

Do I then erase or rename the original small file on the GPS unit itself?

Is there a way to retrieve the gps coordinates from a location that you have saved as a favorite?

Where can I locate the latest Garmin Junction View File? (The large one with all of the data, not the small one that is updated by Garmin with the maps)...Has it been updated for the latest map set (2011.30)?
