Increasing the range of Points of Interest

I have a 1490LMT that I am trying to grow accustom to and notice that when I use "Where to/Points of Interest/Spell" and make an entry the device only shows locations within 50 or 60 miles (may vary). Is there some option I can enter to use a broader search area?

I am aware of the NEAR options, and want it to be My Current Location, but want the NEAR distance to be broadened.

When I us my custom POIs the search is not limited.

.

The unit shows the 50 (or 48) locations that are closest to your current position.

The list will change as you move. There's no way to "broaden the distance".

In order to search in a more distant location, you need to select that location.

Or narrow your search parameters so that fewer locations close to you are shown if they don't match what you are looking for.

My 1490LMT does not show the

My 1490LMT does not show the closest 48 or 50. In some cases it only shows a few.

For example: I searched for Dairy Queen and what it gave me is 7 or 8 within a 35 miles radius. I know that there are several others 55 miles from me.

What could be limiting the search area?

Do the POIs actually exist in GPS?

Have you tried checking to see if the POIs you are hoping to see come up are even in your GPS file? It could be they are too new to have been added yet or maybe just never made it into the Garmin file.

Do you have the poi-factory Dairy Queen file or are you relying on the built in points of interest?
