Garmin talk

Hi,

I work for a company where some users are out in the field with their Garmins and they need to record their latitude/longitude in decimal format for entry into an in-house software program. We've set the coordinate format to decimal, but it seems to leave the minus sign off of the longitude, although the coordinates seem to be correct otherwise. Is there some setting we're missing?

I recently purchased a Garmin 1490LMT and this is my first time using custom POIs, proximity alerts, etc. I am an advanced computer user. However, I am stumped here. I've been researching on/off for days, but am finally giving in to ask for help.

Just wanted to see if anyone else has the Nuvi 2595LMT and what you thought about it compared with other GPS units you have owned in the past. I've had mine for about a week and like it so far. Occasionally though, it does lose bluetooth connection for no reason. Other than that it's working very well and I really like the voice command feature.

I have a nuvi 760 that I've been using for about three years. It plays MP3 files, and I have several alerts, RLC and Speed Cameras, specifically. The wife got a 2360LMT for Christmas, which doesn't play MP3s - I know because when I installed the RLC files (with the MP3 file) the voice alert didn't work.

I having trouble sending trip routes from mapquest. I have a nuvi 265w. I am using IE windows 7 have all the plugins. Have no trouble sending poi but from mapquest it said it was sent but can not find it in favorites. I have done this in the past on the same computer with no trouble.

Purchased this unit just before Christmas. Issues started after I updated to the latest software update (4.40) and I'm running 4.01 up-loader on my PC. I've noticed this thing reboots continuously while either searching for traffic or if I use the voice command feature for any function. I deleted all but the English, British, Australian & Italian languages.

Is it possible to send waypoints or locations to your Garmin C340 from Bing Maps

the unit is only a few weeks old, has the latest maps and software. I have noticed 4x today that while doing a traffic search that the unit reboots than boots back up again..have noticed this before.

Any suggestions? This a common problem? Did some searches etc, but not sure what to try...Garmin support is also closed for the weekend...

I have a new nuvi 1390LMT and an old nuvi 780 (which I think is far superior but the battery is starting to go). I have downloaded the exact same csv custom POI file (Costco locations) to both units and I can access the locations through Extras. On the 780 I get the Go! button after I click on Show Map. I do not get the Go!

I have a Garmin Nuvi 2300. One of the things that I have noticed is that when driving in the city the estimated time to arrive is never accurate. If I had to guess, I'd say that it seems that the estimated time to arrive doesn't take into consideration that a person would be stopping at red lights.

Well, in writing up a summary for Garmin about Safe Texting, InstaSearch, etc., I have come across a pretty big issue regarding the 3490 with Basecamp. I had deleted my Waypoints (Saved Favorites), Trip Logs, and Active Routes on the 3490. They no longer appeared on the unit.

I have a 670 Garmin with N. America & Europe maps, but this model was discontinued sometime ago and now I am looking to replace it with a newer an identical model setup.
Garmin has a few models, but I would like if any members have them and how they enjoy them when in use.

first let me say you guys on here do a great job uploading POI files, etc..great to now have updated ones for my new GPS..

That being said I am trying to update my old Speed and Red Life Camera Files for Canada and I have done so. The Red Light Camera files seem to have updated nicely, but the Speed Files attached are all U.S. Am I missing something, are there no Canuck files?

By base, I mean that the basic subscription that is included with the purchase of Garmin GPS' that offer "lifetime traffic", not the other providers you have to purchase.

I'm finding that its basically useless. Perhaps if there's information on UNEXPECTED delay, maybe it will be.

I have the c340 and the Nuvi 50LM. I have both downloaded files from here to use as well as created my own personal ones.

I did some search on the old c340 only to find out you can not load poi files to a SD card. At least this is what was stated under the faq.

When downloading POI files, what is the difference between a CSV format and a GPX format? Thanks.

My son and I made a short trip to a friends house I don't think I'd been to before last Sunday. We both use Garmins all the time but we took his truck which didn't happen to have one of his Garmins in it. So we used his Motorolla Razor. He was driving so I held it. He'd briefly used his phone before but he was holding it those times.

Since Borders Books went out of business (at least in the US, I believe), & remnants of the stores were picked up by Barnes & Noble (I'm not quite certain of this) - where does it put the status of the two POI files we have at the POI Factory???

I had a 255w and that one read down to 0.1 mile and with that resolution, how it rounded didn't really matter.

My 1350 will show "next turn in 1.2 miles" and such so I know the internally its able to resolve it, but for whatever reason, the odometer will no longer read to tenth of a mile and I don't like the way it rounds.

I have a 1350 and ever since I installed 5.70, I've been having abrupt shut downs. I enter the address and when I hit go, the unit shuts off abruptly as if I pulled the battery.

When I restart, it does not register in the recently found and it takes time to reacquire satellite as if its a new start.

In error log, I see
